Single-bottom Plow
This
old single-bottom plow is used to “break ground” for planting crops. It was pulled by a single horse or a pair of
horses and was guided by a man holding onto the handles. The front wheel prevented the plow from
digging too deeply into the ground.
Problems could arise if the plow discovered a hidden rock or tree root.
