Dorothy Jones Bayes and the Family Dog

The dog’s name was Jack and he lived to a ripe old age (for a dog) of 17 years.  Jack earned his keep as a good cow dog.  If the cows did not come to the barn at milking time, Homer Jones only needed to tell Jack, “Go get the cows,” and Jack would handle the rest.  The cows soon learned the process and were usually at the barn on schedule.  So, Jack didn’t have to bring them in very often.
