Barn from the Top Side
The
barn was constructed so that the middle story was at the level of the
road. This permitted a team and load
of hay to drive directly into the barn
without the need for a ramp. Siding for
the early barns and sheds were rough-sawed, unpainted lumber.
This
view shows the lane from the main road terminating in the barnyard. A gate can be opened to continue into the
fields.
