LONGMIRE, LONGMORE, PHILLIPS posted by David Longmire on 05/19/97
My father, Gordon George LONGMORE, now deceased, was b 17 Oct 1923 in Youngstown, OH. His parents were Robert B. LONGMORE, born in Hillsville, PA, and Elizabeth PHILLIPS, born in Girard, OH. My father was a Japanese POW in WWII and said at some time he was orphaned or deserted or something of that sort and was raised at Boys Town. Considering my Father's traumatic experience in WWII, I am not sure what is actually the truth. He changed his name to LONGMIRE in the early 1950's and I have never been in contact with any relative on his side of my family.
