Looking for information or contact with anyone searching the DIEHL surname. My line goes back to Phillip DIEHL 1766-1852 & his wife Elizabeth MOWERY; their children: Philip, John, Henry, Samuel, Adam, William, Margaret, Elizabeth, Phoebe, Sarah,& Eli. John DIEHL of this family married Salome FENSTERMACKER; their children: Katherine, Mary, Sarah, John Jr., Charles, Amos, Elias,& George. Elias DIEHL of this family married Caroline CUTLER; their children: Dennis, Mark,& Ralph. I will share what I have on this family. Dennis would be my Great Grandfather. I would also like to know where John & Salome are buried. I believe they lived in the Canfield area of Mahoning Co, OH. Elias & Amos DIEHL moved to Hancock Co, OH. Elias DIEHL & son Mark moved to Kansas. Dennis DIEHL lived the rest of his life in Allen Co, OH.

I have in my posession color copies of several pages from a family bible that came from the Mahoning Co, OH area. A friend has the bible and let me copy them. He has no idea who the families are as he just collects old books. The bible belonged to the MITCHELTREE family and has dates from 1824 to 1966. There are some births, deaths and marriages. Other names include STONE, LUSE, ROSE, WALKER and BAKER. I will be happy to send these copies to anyone that has proof of the lineage, for the cost of postage.

Interested in exchanging information with anyone researching the HARDING family of Canfield, Mahoning Co, OH. John HARDING b abt 1758 in Northampton Co, PA, m Magdalena NEIER in that county abt 1775. They relocated to Mahoning (then Trumbull) Co abt 1805. Several generations lived and died in Canfield. I have information on a lot of the descendants of John and Magdalena, but would like to know their ancestors.

Trying to find information on Thomas (perhaps Toma) and Dorothy BACAK who came to the US around 1917, probably from Croatia. They had about 6 children, including Steve, Martin (my father),& Kate. They lived in Youngstown. My father came to Michigan as a young man. I never met any of my family. It is very important for me now to find them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Seeking any information on the following people and their families: Wendell GROVE (my 4th G-Grandfather) lived in Austintown--he moved there just about 1800. He can be found in a two volume book called the "History of Trumbull and Mahoning Counties." His son, Andrew GROVE (my 3d G-Grandfather), lived in Lordstown and died there in 1887.

Thomas, b 14 Jan 1836, was allegedly the son of William GRAY, b 3 Jun 1798,& Sarah SCOTT, b 10 Mar 1813; he married Elinor Bement GWATHMEY, of the Virginia GWATHMEY/CLARK families. William GRAY was allegedly the son of George GRAY, b 1771,& Margaret MATHER, b 1770. Sarah SCOTT was allegedly the daughter of Abraham SCOTT, b 16 Dec 1770,& Mercy ROCKHILL, b 25 Dec 1774. Would appreciate any information on the persons listed above.

Searching for any information on Hugh Haggerty COLE, b 1808 in NJ; m 1828 in Newton Twp, Trumbull Co, OH, Susannah WINANS, b 1808 Milton Twp, Trumbull Co (now Mahoning Co), OH. Hugh's father was James COLE and I find him in census records as early as 1820 in Milton Twp. I cannot locate the wife of James. Any information or pointers to research data I could look at for Milton Twp would be very much appreciated. James WINANS was the father of Susannah WINANS, her mother was Hannah BUNNELL.
