MEETINGS:
The Madison County (Ohio) Genealogical Society meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month with the exception of December. The meetings are held at 7:00pm at the Madison County Genealogical Society Library, 20 South Walnut St., Room 9, London, Ohio 43140 in the former London Schools primary building. There is ample parking at the rear of the building with the entrance along the drive and is handicap accessible.
NEWSLETTER: Members are invited to contribute articles for
publication. We welcome Bible records, ancestor charts, biographies and
family research. Queries are printed as space permits.
RESEARCH REQUESTS: All research queries should be sent to Madison County Genealogical Society, P.O. Box 102, London, Ohio 43140-0102 and should include a five generation chart, contact information with phone number and email, be limited to 3 questions, and include a $10 check made payable to Madison County Genealogical Society for the first hour of research. Additional charges: $10 for each extra hour of research, $1 for each obituary copy, photocopying fees, and mailing costs. First-time members will receive one hour of research with membership.
VISITING MCGS: We are located at 20 South Walnut St., London, Ohio, Room #9 in the former London Schools primary building. There is plenty of parking at the rear of the building with the entrance along the drive andis handicap accessible.
Hours are:
Wednesday: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Thursday: 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Friday: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday: 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
In 2015, the last day in December that the library will be open is December 19. The library will re-open on January 6, 2016.
The library will be closed whenever the schools are closed for snow days. There is a copier available at .15 per copy. The microfilm reader does not have a printer so the researcher may photograph the images. For visitors traveling from a distance, please contact the Library Director Grace Yerian at 740-852-0232 to make special arrangements.
