Unknown Chapman

This is one of the Chapman sons, but we don't know which one for sure. There were four sons in the family who fought in the Civil War. This photo could be either Orin, Sidney, Asher or Zenas. UPDATE from Marsha on 15 Nov 2007: We have concluded that it is most likely Sidney William Chapman, the son of Orvis Alverson Chapman and Electa Minerva (Buck) Chapman. Sidney was born in Sheffield in 1845. He died 18 Apr 1865 in New Orleans, Louisiana while serving as a soldier in the Civil War. |
