My mother had been our family genealogist, and had taken my paternal ancestry back to the late 1700s when the Schiskas emigrated to America (she even has the original letters of passage). Unfortunately, my mother passed away on June 27 leaving a huge amount of information on the Shoults side but very little completed work. I was wondering if it would be possible to have the SHOULTS name added to your Knox County site so those with information may be able to offer it more readily. I know there is some exciting history to be learned. My grandfather, for instance, was Joseph F. Shoults, a deputy sheriff in Mt. Vernon under Paul Lynde's father Hoy Linde. My great-great grandfather was Samson Shoults, an "Indian trader" who owned the land upon which they built the covered bridge near the girl scout camp in Martinsburg. He was a shoe cobbler by trade and traveled a lot. The only information that I can find on him is from 1910 on. He left Mount Vernon, Ohio and married my grandmother Ada Anna WHITE on 12/17/1910 at the home of C.Y. Culverson in Valley Head, Alabama.
