I am interested in corresponding with fellow genealogits who might have information on Robert S.MCKAY who immigated from Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, Scotland to Manchester, England and then to Springfield, Clark, County, Ohio. in 1849. Robert, his wife, Emma, and sons William and Erick went to Knox, County, Ohio, in 1854. Robert had some relationshio with Arichbold McKay who aslo went to Springfield with his wife Jessy and two children around 1854. They also came from Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Robert may have had brothers and sisters who went to California around the same time period. Robert was engaged in building the railroad beds and bridge abutments in Clark, Knox, and Holmes Counties, Ohio.

I'm looking for the following names: COOPER, COOK, CORWIN, KELLY. Abel COOK b. 1803 Washington County PA d. 1896 Edison OH 1822 m. Phebe Cooper b. 1804 Washington County PA d. ? They were married in Knox County OH then moved to Gilead Twp. to an 80 acre farm. The farm & the house they built are in what is now Edison OH. They had 10 children. One daughter, Hattie Cook Corwin died leaving 3 children. One, Blanche Corwin b. 1872, lived most of her life on the farm. She married Frank Kelly who died in c. 1956. They had no children. Blanch died c. 1960. What happened to Blanch's brother & sister. She may have had than 2 siblings. Who was her father, & what happened to him?

Looking for Jarrett Parrish BELT. Born in Knox Co. 5/8/1857. He and his wife, Amanda Amelia BOWMAN, lived at 697 W. Gambier ST. Mt. Vernon. He was a lathe worker. Died 7/5/28 and is buried in Mound View Cemetery. His father was Freedman/Freeman Belt who was married to Susana MCMANIS. Anyone recognize these people? Thanks.

Where could I go to get information on men who served from Knox Co. in the Civil War. I looking for information on Capt. John BODY, and a John COLEMAN. They both are my great, great, grandfathers. I was in Mt. Vernon last week and found some information, but being short of time could not go to Historical Soc. to get information. (they were closed both day we came threw Mt. Vernon) Any information you could give me would help in my quest to find information about my family. My name is Barbara Matylewicz and I live in Factoryville, PA. My father is Frederick Logan Body and he was born in 1919. His father was Robert Carter Body he was born in 1879, his father was William Robert Body he was born in 1852, his father was John Body and he was born in 1829 (I think in England). John Coleman was on my Grandmother's side of the family, her name was Dora Coleman Body 1880-1931 she was the daughter of John Coleman 1839-1910 and Annie LIFER Colman 1848-1935. Like I said before, I would be so greatful for any information on these men. John Body's picture is in the Story of the Sherman Brigade. This is about all the information I have be able to find. I'm trying this by way of the computer now, being I live so far away from the area. Thank you for your help.

Looking for information on Adam & Elizabeth OURY, Jacob & Elizabeth Oury, John Oury, Adam Oury jr., and Christopher Oury They were in Knox Co. Jefferson Twp. in 1830's also was in the 1840 census. Jacob sold his land in 1839. Adam sold his in 1842. Adam jr. married in 1839 to a Mary Shook and Christopher married in 1840 to a Sarah Beckwith. Need to find out parents and siblings names for SHOOK and BECKWITH. Also who John married since he stayed in Knox Co. after his family moved to IL. in 1842. John had a son named Silas b. 1841 that is buried in Knox Co. with his wife.

Would like to connect with anyone researching the GRUBBS who lived in Knox County in the 1800's. My ancestors, William and Prudence GRAHAM traveled several times between Armstrong Co. & Indiana Co. Looking for proof that Philip Studer, born 1822, was the son of John STUDER (1798-1851) and Fanny FORSYTHE (1799-1886). The Studers arrived in Knox Co. from Wayne Co. after 1840. Both John and Fanny died there. Philip married Amanda BREECE in 1851 in Knox, but is not listed in the 1850 Census. He and Amanda removed to Cedar Co, Iowa where Philip died in 1901. Anything that links Philip to John would be greatly appreciated.

KINNEY / CRILL / BREESE / SARGENT / NORTON -- Nathaniel Kinney and Barbara Sargent Kinney came to Knox County about 1815 from Maryland with nine children -- David, Stanley, Jacob, Samuel(William?), Elizabeth, Sarah, James, and two others. Some went on to Shelby Co IN., but most stayed. David married Julia NORTON, daughter of Gideon and Lydia. Elizabeth and Sarah each married a BREESE. David's son William married Harriet CRILLl, daughter of John and Sarah MURDOCK Crill. The Crills had many children in the Knox County area.
