I'm looking for accurate information regarding the ghost stories surrounding Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. (Knox County) I'm interested in what it is that causes such a large number of ghost sightings to be concentrated in such a small area. Also, if possible, I would like the names of the nine men that died in the fire at Kenyon College back in 1949. I appreciate your help very much. Regards.

Researcher: Virginia Richardson
Email: [email protected]
Date posted: Friday, July 4, 1997

George LEWIS lived in Knox County after migrating from somewhere in Virginia. He died in Knox County in 1779. Is there any way to find out where he migrated from (in Virginia:) His wifes name was Suzanna. Maiden name unknown. She died in 1785 at knox County also. They had a son named Benjamin who migrated to Arkansas and I have reason to believe he served in the Civil War with the 34th OH Infantry (I have been told post 305 - whatever that means). If you can answer any of the above questions, or point me in the right direction for finding them, I would appreciate it.
