I am trying to find my THOMAS roots in Knox County, OH. I believe my great, great grandfather was born in Knox County but I am not sure. He was born in 1822 in OH. I believe in the Bladensburg, area. I note in the History of Knox County, OH from 1779 to 1862 by A. Banning Norton that he says in the preface. Amoung my papers in Texas are notes taken by me of conversations with the above cities parties also with Samuel H. Smith and William Smith, old residents of Knox County, now residing in the state. A number of Thomas's are mentioned in his book and I wonder if he might not have more information in the notes he refers to. Would you be able to help me find the notes he refers to or would you know someone who might have knowledge of the notes? Thank you for your help.

Surnames: DELINGNER, THOMAS

The first family member, William THOMAS, was born in 1822 in OH. The earliest I have been able to track the family is to Albion, Noble County, IN. I believe they arrived there between 1845 and 1849. I have tracked his son Lorenzo D. Thomas, wife Laura B., and two children, Norris (could be Morris) and May, to Knox County. Lorenzo and Laura B. are buried in the Bladensburg Cemetary. Norris W. and Mae(May) are buried in the Martinsburg Presbyterian Cemetary. All of these people were born after William left OH and must have a connection to Knox County which could be relatives of some kind. This is why I think Knox County may be where William is from. I have tried to find a connection by reading Knox County history, census checking, reviewing tax records, and looking at old Atlas information about Knox County. So far I have not found a link. I also have looked at Family Tree Maker marriage index for Ohio covering the years 1789-1850. So far I have found no connection. Any ideas you may be able to give me about how to track William would be appreciated. I do not know where he died so I do not have a death certificate. His wife, Magdaline DELINGNER, is buried in Cambridge, IL.
