Jackson County Ohio Covered Bridges

Jackson County Ohio Covered Bridges

According to a pamphlet "Ohio Covered Bridges", published in 1972 by the Ohio Historical Society, there were three covered bridges remaining in Jackson County at that time. I have not attempted to verify this with other sources.

1. In Scioto Township section 36, on Township Road 291 (Johnson Rd.). It spans Little Scioto River, four miles southwest of Petersburg, one-half mile east-northeast of State Route 776. Its truss construction is of the Smith type.

2. In Washington Township section 7, on County Road 31. It spans Pigeon Creek at Byer. Its truss construction is of the Smith type.

3. In Milton Township section 26, on Township Road 165. It spans Little Raccoon Creek at Buckeye Furnace. Its truss construction is of the Smith type.
