William Henry O'Neal 1849-1935

OBITUARY
William Henry O'Neal, son of Henry and Betsy O'Neal was born in Huron
County, Ohio, June 27, 1849 and departed this life at his home in Pioneer,
August 31, 1935 at the ripe old age of 86 yrs, two months and three
days. He moved to this county with his parents at the age of five years
and has
spent his entire life in this county. At the age of 15 yrs. he enlisted
in the service of his country in Co. C. 195th Ohio Volunteer Infantry March
1865 and served until the close of the war. Then returned to his parents
until 1875 when he was united in marriage to Lydia Ann Mocherman. To
this union four children were born, Otis, Clyde, Carl and Florence, she
dying in infancy. His wife, Lydia Ann O'Neal departed this life, May 17,
1890. In his second marriage he was united in marriage to Jane Lanbright,
Dec. 31, 1891. She departed this life, March 14, 1922. He was united in
marriage to Mary Ellen Lonabarger, Aug. 3, 1926 and made their home in
Pioneer until his death. He leaves his wife, Mary Ellen O'Neal, three sons,
Otis O'Neal of Edon, Ohio; Clyde O'Neal of Washta Iowa; Carl O'Neal, residence
unknown; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two sisters,
Hattie Torrence of Lima, Ohio; Della Bailey of Pioneer and a host of other
relatives and friends. Funeral Services were held Monday afternoon in the
United Brethren church conducted by Rev. J. F. Slough with burial in Floral
