NORWALK - Violet I. Suhr, 94, of Ohio 18 East, died Sunday at Gaymont Nursing Center, following an extended illness.
Survivors and funeral arrangements will be announced later by the Kubach-Smith Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk.

NORWALK - Violet I. Suhr, 94, of Ohio 18 East, died Sunday at Gaymont Nursing Center, following an extended illness.
A lifelong resident of Norwalk, Miss Suhr had attended the Little Red School House for eight years and was a 1918 graduate of Norwalk High School.
She had been employed at the courthouse in Norwalk for a number of years, and then the former Farm Bureau in Norwalk for more than 50 years, retiring in 1976.
She was a lifelong member of the former First Universalist Church of Norwalk.
She was a charter member of the Business and Professional Women's Association in Norwalk and was president from 1953 to 1955. She was a member of the Farm Bureau and the Over The Hill Gang Farm Bureau Council from 1937 to 1988. She had been a 4-H advisor in the 1930's.
She is survived by a sister, Mary A. Surrarrer of Lakeland, Fla; a nephew Charles F. Stumpf of Ruskin, Fla, whom she raised from infancy, great-nieces, Sarah J. Berner of Highland Heights and Nancy J. Dawley and Betty J. Miller, both of Norwalk, great-nephews, Charles J. Stumpf Jr. of New London and William J. Stumpf of Norwalk, and numerous other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William A. and Gertrude M. (Curtiss) Suhr; sisters, Maude Wilson, Laura McClain and Hazel Stumpf; and a brother, Curtiss A. Suhr.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Kubach-Smith Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Fred Wiechers, pastor of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
