NONOGENERIAN PASSES AWAY
WILLIAM T. BOWEN, WELL-KNOWN RETIRED FARMER, SUCCUMBS TO RAVAGES OF TIME

William T. Bowen, an aged resident of this city, passed away at his home, No. 7 West League street, Friday morning at 2:15 o'clock, death being due to heart failure and advanced yeaers [sic], having reached his ninetieth anniversary Jan. 3, last.
Mr. Bowen was a pioneer resident of Huron county, having spent the greater part of his life in and around Huron county with the exception of twenty years spent in Nebraska.
He was a vigorous man throughout his life, having enjoyed good health all his years with mind active to the last.
William Thomas Bowen was born in Willingley, Windom county, Conn., Jan 3, 1826, and moved with his parents to Ohio in April, 1835. They settled in Copley, Summit county, and lived there until April, 1955.
In 1854 he was united in marriage to Clarissa Charlotte Foreman. To that marriage eight children were born, four boys and four girls, one of whom died in infancy, the others having grown to manhood and womanhood.
In 1855 Mr. Bowen moved his family to East Townsend, where he settled on a farm and tilled the soil until the spring of 1873, when he moved to this city, where he lived until 1886, at which time he moved to Watts, Lincoln county, Neb., where he also farmed. He returned to Norwalk in the fall of 1905. Mrs. Bowen died Feb. 10, 1909.
On Sept. 7, 1910, he was untied in marriage to Mrs. Julia Haskins, who survives. Mr. Bowen is also survived by the following children: Mrs. Almond Saerman and Mrs. G. W. Suhr, of this city; Mrs. George E. Prosser and Charles Bowen, of North Platte, Neb., and Harley D. Bowen of Huntington, O. Fourteen grandchildren and 29 great grand-1children [sic] also survive. The funeral services will be held at 3 p. m. Sunday at the Universalist church. No flowers.
