Sowers or Old Paxton Cemetery
 Benton Township, Hocking County, Ohio

From South Bloomingville take State Route 664 , Travel about 3 miles   and turn left on to
State Route 374, Travel about ½ mile,turn left or west onto Big Pine Road. Travel about 2 miles to
Keifel Road on the right. Travel about 2 ½ miles on Keifel Rd. to Township Road # 165  or Sowers Road,
which is on the left. The road is hidden on the curve of the road and has a No Outlet sign.
The cemetery is on the left at the end of Sowers Road.

Carr, James H. – Died April 15, 1894, aged 75 y, 11m, 4 d.

Hosler, Julia A. - Wife of  J. Hosler, died 1870. (Broken Stone)

Kline, Homer Virgil – Son of Solomon & Virgie Kline, Died
                                          May  17, 1885, aged 1m, 6d.

Paxton, Arthur – Son of M. & L. Paxton, died March 15, 186?
                                    (Broken Stone)

Paxton, Cora C. – Daughter of  J. J. & A. S. Paxton, died
                                   December 18, 1868, aged 6 m, 18 d.

Paxton, Elmer – Son of M. & L. Paxton, died October 25, 1878;
                                aged 3y, 1 d.

Smyers, Elizabeth – Wife of John Smyers, d. ??, aged 64y,
                                       22d.  (Broken Stone)

Smyers, Jessie A. – Daughters of E. & M. Smyers, born
                                     November 21,  1880; d. February 21, 1881 &
                                     Minnie, Born  March or May 21, 1882; died
                                     July 6, 1882    ( Stone Worn)

Smyers, John – Born May 25, 1832; d. December 11, 1875.
                              + Private Company I, 151 Ohio Infantry.

Reid, Amelia – Died August 31, 1861, aged 17y, 7m, 10 d.

Reid, Matilda – Wife of James Reid, died June 22, 1892.

Smith, Infant – Son of J. & M. Smith, October 1870.

    The Following Sowers Information was supplied by  Ray Sowers. The Stones are gone
    from the cemetery: Hocking county death records, book 2, page 44

 Sowers,Edward -b. 1815; d. April 8,1890; aged 74y., 6 m. 17 d.
 Sowers, Sarah (Paxton) - b. 1819; d. Ocotber 10, 1890; aged 71y., 1m., 10 d.
                                                Daughter of James Paxton.
