The Harrison County Genealogical Society is a non-profit organization and is a chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society. Our purpose is to gather, maintain and preserve family information and records. As a non-profit organization our source of income is from memberships, the sale of publications and donations. We gladly accept books, periodicals, family histories and other materials to be used in our genealogical library.The HCGS Library is open to the public for research: June through August, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. During September thru May, the Library is open by appointment only. Membership Information Annual Membership (Dues are for the Calendar Year - i.e., Beginning January 1st)
Each member receives four newsletters, OUR HARRISON HERITAGE, and One annual index plus free queries per year
Regular meetings are held each month on the 4th Monday of each month, except May and December. Place and time may vary
Be sure to include your name, mailing address, phone #, e-mail address & surnames.
You may want to submit your 5 generation chart. Please write on the back of the chart that you give permission for the HCGS to use the information on the chart.

PROJECTS On going projects of the HCGS include: Compiling marriage records, naturalizations and other records for publication. Also preparing articles about Harrison County families for the newsletter.
