Other: my mother Pauline L. Beck Sterner published a booklet that is in the Hancock Co. Library. It is titled: The Ancestry of the Families in Hancock County, Ohio of ALGE, BECK, SCHALLER, STERNER, and WEITZ and BATCHELDOR, CLARK, COLE and LILLY In Nelson Country, Kentucky. Then last February 2006 I handed a photocopy of a more personal set of Sterner and Hancock Country related stories to a librarian at the Hancock County library for inclusion in its genealogy section. I'm not sure if it is on the shelves, but it has some interesting narrative stories! An extra wistful and hopeful question for you (or if you could, please direct me to sources): My grandfather Samuel Sterner (1875-1961) married Hannah May Dalbey (1876-1916). From this marriage in Hancock County one child was born (my father Wilbur D. Sterner (1909-1988). Both Hannah May Dalbey and David Austin Sterner were artists, and I have been told (decades ago) that there are a number of their paintings around in Hancock Country. As I am an exhibiting artist/painter this particularly interests me, and I do wonder if there would be any way of finding out if any of these art works still exist. She died around 1916, and he may have died in the 1930s out West. Where should I turn?
