DRAKE, GALIPOO, PARCHER posted by Roxanne Hernandez on Sunday, April 2, 2006

Am looking for the death of Margaret DRAKE. Mother Ruanna Alice PARCHER/GALIPOO/DRAKE, father John E. DRAKE. She was born I think in Grant Co. Indiana in the mid to late1880's. I think she married a man with the last name Lehr....possibly George. I am told she died fairly young, but had a son, Erwin, Irvin, or something like that. Had two sisters...Ethel May, and Roena. I have found nothing about this woman, and if it were not for the picture I have of her, I would think she really did not exist. Thank you for anything you can lead me to.

DIEHL, FELLERS, STERNER, WEITZ posted by Mary Sterner Lawson on Saturday, July 15, 2006

I am searching for information on David Austin STERNER (son of Emmanuel P. STERNER, 1834-1906) and Louisa WEITZ (1837-1911) and Carrie Diehl ___?___. On April 28, 1896 D. A. STERNER married Nancy M. DIEHL (b. Hancock County April 21, 1865; daughter of Aaron and Lettecia A. FELLERS), who died December 21, 1896. Carrie was sole issue of Nancy Diehl's first marriage to Prof. R. E. Diehl, who died young. Am seeking information as to whether Carrie Diehl __?__ has descendants who might have some information on her stepfather or photo(s) of him. David A. Sterner died out west, probably in Montana. He was a schoolteacher, an artist, a painter, a wallpaperer, and he worked on the artwork and painting during the first year and a half of the construction of the Yellowstone (Park) Hotel.

BENDER, Louis; Mt Cory Hancock Cty. Born 1828 in Baden, Germany, My 2nd Great Grandfather. Moved to Noble Cnty, Indiana prior to 1868 where my Great Grandfather Charles I BENDER WAS born in 1868. Other bro and sisters of Charles (1868-1927) - William (1857-1860), Margaurite Rosina ( 1859-1937), Douglas Dillard (1861-1863), Mary Elizabeth (1863-1892) and Uricka Jane (1870-1962). Louis (possibly Ludwig) married Barbara MARKLEY 27 Nov 1856 in neighboring Putnam Cty. Information from Census etc. indicate he had at least 5 brothers - Andrew (b 1828), Martin (b 1832) ,William (b 1834), Gottlieb (b 1839) and Christian (b 1842). Info from a family history book states Lewis came to US 28 April 1848 and later sent for his parent and brothers. Info on Andrew states he came to US 11 May 1853. Parents are listed as Frederick and Sidney ECK. Dates to US unsubstantiated. Andrew married a Sidney Eck, so who is Frederick? Other info on internet from IGI indicated other parents such as Johan and Margaurite Rosina. I am interested in establishing parents of Lewis and his brothers and where they came from in Baden. Also when did they arrive in Hancock Cty. 1860 census is first record of them in Hancock Cty Will share all info on descendants of Louis.
