"MORGAN.--- At the home, No. 1008 Third street,
Thursday,
May 22, 1902, at 11:30 a. m., Mrs. Anna Morgan, wife of E. Morgan, aged
67 years and 17 days.
Miss Anna Barrow was born in Kent, England, and came
to America when a child. She was reared at Harrison, Ohio, and was
married
to Elkanah Morgan in 1865. From this union two children were born, a
son
and daughter, the latter, Mrs. Mabel Montgomery of this city,
surviving.
Mrs. Morgan moved with her husband from Harrison, Ohio,
to St. Cloud, Minn., and five years later they came to Fort Madison,
where
they have lived for thirty-two years. Besides the husband and daughter
the deceased is survived by two brothers and one sister, Mrs. E. W.
Green
of Wever, Iowa; Samuel Barrow of Harrison, Ohio, and John Barrow of
near
Farmington, Iowa, and a grand-daughter, Miss Beulah Montgomery.
Mrs. Morgan has been in ill health for a long time. She
was a member of the First M. E. church, a faithful Christian, a loving
wife and mother, and a kind neighbor, besides a prominent and tireless
worker in the W. C. T. U., of which she was a member, and was love and
respected by all who knew her.
Funeral from the home at 2 p. m., Friday, May 23, Rev. D. C. Bevan officiating. Interment in the city cemetery."
