The Cincinnati Index includes articles & obituaries back to 194? & Death Notices since 1985, although they have recently begun indexing older death notices begininng with 1900. Before 1985, the library did not index death notices, only obituaries. If you can not find a deceased person on the newspaper index and you are SURE of the exact date of death, the library will search the newspapers for 5 days after the date of death to look for the death notice or obit you are looking for.See HCPL "InfoFax Service" for details on obtaining copies by fax to your home at 25¢ per page or to a Branch Library at 10¢ per page. Copies can also be mailed, check with the Library for costs.
Rootsweb's Obituary Daily Times has also been indexing Death Notices found in the Cincinnati Enquirer & Post for several years which also lists maiden names for females if listed in the paper. You can then write to the library for copies. The Ohio Historical Society has many older newspapers published in Hamilton Co.
