In Memory
Of Charles Herbert, died July 16, 1894.
Yes, peaceful was they life, and death
  Came with a gentle stride,
And whispered with his icy breath
  "No longer here abide."

Thy spirit hailed the silent guest'
Who came in dead of night.
Obedient to his stern behest,
Thy pure sould took its flight.

And though I stand with downcast heart
 Beside they sable bier,
My aching eyes refues to shed
  Thy tributary tear.

For in thy narrow house at last
  Your earthly troubles cease;
And joy and grief alike are past--
  Oblivion brings thee peace.

Yet to they tomb I fain would bring
  This simple immortelle,
The last, sincerest offering--
  A true friend's sad farewell.
FROM  HIS BELOVED WIFE AND SON

In Memory
Of our dear brother, John McDonough, who died July 19, 1893.

Two long years have passed away,
Two long years since that fatal day,
When one we loved and dearly prized
Lay cold in death before our eyes.

O brother, thour art missed by many
Needy ones who turn to the!
For thy heart was ever willing,
And they hand to give was free.

The parting which we gave to thee
  We never can forget,
Nor soothe those pungs of woe,
Deep in our sad hearts yet.

By his sisters, Katie, Mrs. H. Ante, Mrs. J. Murphy
