Deed John Cleves Symmes to Joseph McHenry

7 Sept 1796  Symmes, John Cleves.  Miami Land Office. to Joseph McHenry, volunteer settler in the Miami Purchase.  To all People to Whom these Presents may come....Joseph McHendry appears by the records to be the first applicant duly entered for the forfeiture of Sec 17, T3, FR2, whereof Isaac Winans is the purchaser and who has not complied with the terms of settlement required by the  publication at Trenton.  Joseph McHendry having improved the same and voluntarily represented the section for seven years and being settled thereon is entitled to his deed to 106 2/3 acres to be surveyed off in a regular square in the Northeast corner of Sec 17, T3, FR2.  Isaac Winans is the proprietor of the residue. Deed McHenry to Lang   Joseph McHenry and Hannah, his wife; deed to Lewis Lang of Cincinnati; Dec 15, 1798; for the sum of $100.00; part of a town lot in Cincinnati, numbered 79, containing a 30 foot front and a 99 foot depth. Signed Joseph McHendry and Hannah McHendry in presence of John Carlisle and Joseph Felty (Note: name is spelled Mchenry in the deed but signed McHendry.
