Looking for any information of an Isaac CUMMINGS b. 1739 who was of Palmer, Ma who moved to Crawford County, PA abt 1814/15. His wife Mary (Tidd) lived in Sadsbury Township in Crawford County around the canal region of Evansburg (now Conneaut Lake) with son Joseph T. CUMMINGS. However, no death notice was listed in newspapers for Isaac. His wife's death notice calls her the widow of Isaac CUMMINGS of Sadsbury Township, however a Cummings book written in early 1900's gives the history of Isaac moving to Gallipolis, Oh. I do not know what to make of the story. If anyone knows of Cummings family who originated from Crawford County Cummings family, I would really like to know any info. concerning the burial of Isaac and Mary Tidd CUMMINGS. Their immediate Evansburgh family also had ties with the High Street Community Church of Conneaut Lake, PA.

Their marriage I was told was listed in the Gallia County Ohio Newspaper 1825-1875 by Henrietta C Evans and Mary P Woods, Death Notices, Obituaries, and Marriages. This info was supose to be provided by a Marsha Martin cites 11 July 1868 Gallipolis Journal. Anderson B GOFF to Miss C. A. PERSINGER both of Kanawha Co, WV on the steamer Kanawha Belle by J.G. Damron, Esq on 1 June 1868. I would like to know if anyone can tell me where to find this info.

WALLACE, age 26, born Ohio, Elizabeth, age 25, born Ohio, Nancy J. age 3, born Ohio, Mary A, age 11/12, born Ohio. George and Elizabeth (SMITH) were married in Jackson County, Ohio. He died before 1870 and Elizabeth is found in 1870 and 1880 census in the same township as 1860. Son Robert, age 8, enters the census enumeration in 1870.

I was wondering if someone could tell me how to get a death certificate. My grandfather James HALL was living in Gallipolis ,Ohio when he died May 31 1972. I have tried to get a copy of his death cert, but am told they can't find one. I know for a fact he died there. He was at the Wilcoxen funeral home in Point Pleasant WV and buried at Beale Chapel Church cemetery in Applegrove WV. I was at his funeral. I have contacted the funeral home and even they say they can't find his records, but they have his second wife's records. He was first married to Bessie Lavada HUNT who died in 1953. He then married Grace CHRISTY STOVERS. I was told he may have died at Pleasant Valley hospital in Point Pleasant WV so I checked at Mason county, WV for his death cert. Nothing there either.

I'm also curious to know if anybody knows of an epidemic of some type in Gallia County in 1892 as both Christina and Francis as well as one of their sons William, & William's wife Julla all died within a five month period in that year.

Searching for any information on Elizabeth M. FORTH who was in the 1880 census in Gallia County, Clay Twp., with Joseph L. FORTH. With them were two of her children from her previous marriage To Warren HOUCK. They were Mary Belle and Johnnie (John E.). According to the census, Elizabeth and Joseph had three more children; Wilbur, Della and Frederick before 1880. I cannot find anything on this family from this time. Elizabeth was born Elizabeth M. HALL in Ohio in about 1845. She married Jesse Warren HOUCK in 1863 and they had four children. It is unknown what happened to that marriage, but Elizabeth HOUCK married Joseph FORTH in 1873.

I would appreciate any help in finding information about Joseph HASKINS (also spelled HOSKINS) who was supposedly born in Virginia or West Virginia on November 1, 1804. He married Mary "Polly" LEWIS on June 1, 1826 in Lawrence County and died on April 21, 1875 in Gallia County. His father was William HASKINS Sr. I think but I have no proof of that yet. I think Joseph was buried in the Mercerville Cemetary, Guyan Township, Gallia County, Ohio.

I wonder if anyone has a Gallia Co. obit for Samual LAMBERT or death record. He passed away 28 sep 1866 per his son Wayman's Civil war pension file. It may be in Mason Co. But the family seemed to be in Gallia Co. In most of our Documentation. Samual and Nancy's Daughter Barbara THOMPSON lived on Hannah Trace Rd. I have a lot of info on these families, So if anyone else is reasearching these families drop me a line.

The father is suppose to be Jerry MCDANIEL. Nancy married Isaac TOBIN after Annie was born. I got the name Jerry MCDANIEL from Anna's marriage license.

I have a Jane NORTHUP whose family was from Gallia Co., OH. Jane married a Mr. SHAW about 1842. They had a daughter, Martha, born 1843 in IL. I don't find their marriage in the online Illinois marriage database, and am wondering if they met and married in Gallia Co., OH. In June of 1845 Jane SHAW remarried Isaac HARRINGTON in IL - assume Mr. SHAW died about then, although they may have divorced. Has anyone come across a SHAW who married Jane NORTHUP?
