General Notes:
(MKA) There is some confusion in the source document which wife was first.
The birth dates of the children were not given hence they do not provide a
clue. The sequence in the biographic notes was accepted.
(MKL) Peter Huyck assisted with the work on the farm and later added to the
number of acres on Trout Creek. At the breaking out of the Revolutionary War he
enlisted with the American Forces under different commands and many and various
were the anecdotes of those exciting tims he would relate to his grandchildren.
He directly remembered the flight of his parents from their home near Kingston,
whence they were driven by Indians. Peter Huyck was married twice, first to
Susana Gardner, of Kingston and from this union there were four children. He
married for his second wife, Cornelia Huyck, a distant relative and from this union
there were seven children. Peter Huyck lived on the homestead on Trout Creek
and died there when a veryold man. [83]
(MKA) The relationship between Peter and Cornelia has not been identified.
The "Descendents of Huyck" says that Peter is buried in the East Brook Cem, Walton,
Delaware Co, New York but he has a grave marker in the Smith Cemetery

Ellen's father was a "King's Man" and took Ellen to Canada with him as a
stowaway. After the close of the Revolution, John Shibley came to Canada and
found his wife. He settled in Canada and was appointed "King's Surveyor".

Tiney Shibley is listed as a daughter of a United Empire Loyalist. Receiving
the south half of lots 16 & 17 Conc 13 in Dover Township, Kent County.
[ACD] Gives "Tyney" as an affectionate name for Christina and does not list
Timothy.
(MKA) This family used affectionate name variations for all of the children and
I have continued to list Timothy assuming him to be "Tiney" and the Land
Record Index errs with respect to the sex until new information comes to light.
He would have been 21 years of age or more in 1817 in order to receive the land
grant. His birth would have been before 1796.

Ruth married Lawrence LEWIS in 1809 in Kinderhook, New York. Lawrence was born on 6 Aug 1791 and died on 23 Mar 1869, at age 77.

Edward received his land as the son of a Loyalist 7 February 1821. The land
was in Marmora Twp, Hastings County and is listed as the east half of lots
10&19 in Concessions 6&10. I assume this to mean he received the east half of
lot 10 concession 6 and the east half of lot 19 in concession 10. (MKA) This
area is poor farmland, very rocky.

Edward married Elizabeth GERMAN . Elizabeth was born on 26 May 1796 in Upper Canada and died on 5 Oct 1840, at age 44
