Cy, 90, passed away at his home.
He was born to
Jesse and
Viola (Turney)
Bernath. His wife, Lee Bernath preceded him in death.
He is survived by daughter, Sonja (Bob) Stoll, Florida; two sons,
Rod (Corinne), and Phillip (Lori) both of Delta; grandchildren,
Erin, Chris, Dawn and Shannon; great-grandchildren, Quinn, Mathew,
Madison and Haley.
He is preceded in death by a sister, Kathrine; brothers, Charles,
Raymond, Gerald and Fred Bernath.
Cy was founder of Bernath Furniture in 1953 and co-founder of Lee's
Fashion Center; a lifelong entrepreneur and still active in real
estate well into his 80's. He was a member of the Delta American
Legion, and a founding member of the Wauseon Elks and Sportsman's
Club. Cy was a WWII veteran having served with the U.S. Army in
France and Germany. He was an avid golfer, playing the harmonica and
cards; traveling to Florida, where he played shuffled board as a
hobby.
