Warren was born in Corsica, Ohio. After trying many jobs, he became interested in newspaper work. By the time he was 20 years old, he bought the newspaper in Marion, Marion County, Ohio and became its editor. He was a tall, handsome man. His good looks helped make him popular.

He was Lieutenant Governor and a United States Senator. He said he really did not want to be President, but he was elected anyway. He only lived two years as President.
