THE LIBRARY

The FCGHS Society maintains and collects genealogical research materials and sources that refer  primarily for Franklin County, Ohio and a  basic collection for neighboring Ohio counties, the USA and selected foreign countries. We have some original records, some obituaries, some probate records and wills but no newspapers. We also do not have birth, death or marriage certificates for any year.

We also maintain a very extensive Surname Index File of over 175,00 3x5 cards, listing ancestral surnames being researched by our members, volunteers and people who have visited our library. We are putting all of this information on our in house computer.

Research on your surnames can be done for a donation of $15.00 per hour for members and $25 per hour for non-members. A full name and address is required. When you send us your address your email will be placed in our public files where it can be seen by others researching the same surnames.

Membership is open to anyone interested in genealogy and the purposes of the Society. Members receive a subscription to the Franklintonian, discounts on Society events and merchandise as well as a 60-word query.

Corporate membership	$	1000.00
Individual life membership	$	300.00
Joint life membership	$	500.00	***

 

	**	Associate Membership:	Additional members at the same address connected with the Primary or Patron Membership. Mailing of FCGS material is made only to the Primary Member or Patron Member.
	***	Joint Life Membership:	Two people at the same address who will receive membership privileges for the duration of each of their lives.Only one mailing for this membership.
