To John Adam Miller

Know all men by these presents that I Jonathan Miller of Holmes Township, Crawford County, State of Ohio, am held and firmly bound unto John Adam Miller and his heirs of the same place, in the sum of six hundred dollars the payment of which I do bind myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, or assigns, sealed with my seal and dated this eighth day of October A D Eighteen hundred and Forty one.  Whereas the said John Adam Miller and Anna Mariah Miller his wife by indenture bearing even date herewith have granted confirmed and sold unto the said Jonathan Miller in fee a certain tract of land with the appurtenances the said Jonathan Miller having agreed to maintain them the said John Adam Miller and Anna Mariah Miller his wife (his father and mother) during their natural lives together with his the said Jonathan Miller three sisters Polly, Catherine, and Sarah who are also to have their home with their father and mother so long as they the said Polly, Catherine, and Sarah remain single and are to be provided for as one family and they the said John Adam Miller and Anna Mariah Miller his wife and the three aforementioned daughters shall also have full privilege of house, kitchen, and cellar, room on the premises which they now occupy together with all the other nescary [sic] privileges and he the said Jonathan Miller, his heirs, administrators, executors or assigns, shall and do will sufficiently maintain support and keep the said John Adam Miller and Ann Mariah Miller his wife during their natural lives and the life of the survivor of them with good and sufficient meat, drink, apparel, washing, lodging, and attendance in sickness and in health, and the above obligation to be void, but if default be made in any of the articles aforesaid, to be and remain in full force and virtue.

The State of Ohio, Crawford Co SS:  Before me appeared Thomas P Lea, a justice of the peace in and for said county personally appeared the within named Jonathan Miller and acknowledged the signing and sealing of the within bond to be his voluntary act and deed this 6th day of Nov A D 1846.
