JOHNSTON, MESSNER, MINICH, MINICK, SMITH posted by Lynne Sears on Sunday, February 1, 1998

Looking for information on the parents of Hershel Quinby JOHNSTON (born 2/10/1855 Bucyrus) He married Mary Ellen MESSNER, who was also from Bucyrus, in 1875. Also, information on the parents of Thomas J. MINICK (MINICH?) or his wife, Anna SMITH MINICK would be appreciated. They are both buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Bucyrus, his death being Sept 1868 and hers, Aug. 1877. They appear to have arrived in Bucyrus sometime after 1838, according to birth records of children. Thank you for your help.

VANDORN posted by Kathy Gavin on Friday, February 6, 1998

Myron Beech VANDORN, born in OH 07/16/1825, place unknown. The family came to OH from NY around 1814, it is believed that they settled in Whetstone Twp., Crawford Co. and at some time moved to Lexington, Richland Co. but it may have been the other way around. If the info I have is coorect, his parents were William and Easter (Esther) VANDORN. I would like any info on his birth to confirm this connection. Census and land deed info would be great! Thanks. Kathy Gavin
