Date posted: Monday, April 24, 2000

I am trying to determine the identity of Ann Bradfield, aged 77 living in Carroll co OH in 1850 in the household of John Gardner and his wife Rebecca (Alcut). She was also probably the female aged 60-70 living with the Gardners in Carroll co OH, Brown twp in 1840. I believe that this Ann was the mother of Rebecca and her sisters Plessy, wife of Jacob Walter and Ann wife of Isaac Thatcher. Ann Thatcher was the eldest born around 1801 in VA, and Rebecca and Plessy were born in OH. All three sisters married in Columbiana co OH in the 1820s. There is a William Alcut living in Columbiana co OH as of 1807 and I believe that Ann was his wife and after his death married a Bradfield. Some researchers have the parents of the Allcut sisters as being William Allcut and Anne Woodford. I have not been able to find a marriage record for to substantiate this and have found no information as to where this marriage took place. . If any one has info on Ann Bradfield, I would appreciate the info.
