I'm searching for the parents of my own grandfather, Robert "Earl" POTTS. "Earl" POTTS was born on 14 March 1895 in East Liverpool, Columbiana Co., OH; he died on 15 Sept 1958 in East Liverpool, OH, and is buried in Hancock Co., WV. He was married to (1) Sophie SULLIVAN (no dates); she died in childbirth prior to WW1. Earl married (2) Laura Odessa PRITCHARD Whittington on 15 October 1827 in Beaver Co., PA. We do not know much about Earl's father, Robert Earl POTTS. We suspect Robert POTTS was born ca. 1867, but we don't have a location. Robert POTTS's wife was Charlotte Victoria BENNETT (no dates or locations). One of Earl's brothers, John Ward POTTS, was married to Eileen PETERSON, whose family was also BABBS. I believe that the BABBS family once owned BABBS Island, in the Ohio River. This is apparenly the location for the pylons for the "new" bridge between Chester, WV, and East Liverpool, OH. As a child, I was taken to Babbs Island for picnics and skiing/boating excursions. The following are the known children of Robert Earl POTTS and his first wife, Charlotte Victoria BENNETT: i. Clyde POTTS; ii. Nellie POTTS; iii. Robert "Earl" POTTS; iv. Edgar Ray POTTS (married Laura PRITCHARD's sister, Iva Ameda PRITCHARD); v. John Ward POTTS. Robert Earl POTTS married (2) Ellen CLUTTER (family has her as Clutter, others state she was BURGESS, but her daughter was a CLUTTER). Robert and Ellen had Robert Wayne POTTS and Helen Loretta POTTS.

In 1884, my g'father Walter Loran BOWLES, along with his sister Martha BOWLES and his brother George BOWLES were placed by their father Andrew J. BOWLES in a children's home because their mother Laura May (Jones) BOWLES had died.
Can anyone help me with the following:
1. Whether the Fairmount Children's Home, in Alliance OH is still active and if not when it closed.
2. How, if the Home is closed, I might acquire Walter Loran BOWLES records from the Home. He was placed there at age 4 with his older siblings in 1884 and he left at age 18 in 1898.
3. Walter Loran BOWLES was apparently born on March 10, 1880 in Salineville, OH. Can anyone tell me how I might obtain his birth records?
4. Has anyone ever heard of any of the persons I have mentioned in my query? I know the BOWLES originated in VA and moved to OH some time before 1880 when Walter was born.
