A Jacob BECHT married Susanna MUSSER on 2 Sep 1811 in Columbiana Co, OH just one county north of Jefferson county. In early times this region of OH was considered PA or VA by some people. Searching for the parents of a Jacob BETZ who married Christina A. FELTENBERGER on 22 Dec 1836 in Harrison Co, OH. The couple lived in the German community of Germano, Jefferson and Harrison counties border in OH. There is no earlier information on Jacob. Later records are recorded as Beck, so his original name could have been BECHT, BEIGHT, BAIGHT, BETTS, etc. One later census recorded his birthplace as Cumberland Co, PA. Could Cumberland really be Columbiana? His birth of 26 Jan 1814 could be consistant with the Jacob Becht family. This is my stonewall!!

My gr-gr-gr grandfather Thomas MCCANN seems to be in the 1840 US censes in Wayne Township, Columbiana Co. but disappears by 1846, so we think he might have died and been buried in Columbiana Co; His daughter Mary McCann was married in Dungannon in 1846 to Bernard Boyle, (who probably naturalized in New Lisbon in 1842), and the first two children were baptized at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in 1848 and 1849. A John Boyle witnessed for the Naturalization. A Moses Kennedy was a sponsor for the second baptism. Please suggest possible search options and/or information.
