The following information was found in an obituary for Benjamin Franklin GRIMM. Benjamin died in Jones County, Iowa in 1926. He was born in 1838 in Columbiana County, Ohio. He enlisted in the Civil War at Camp Dennison in Company 7 of the Ohio Battery of Light Artillery. An Iowa Census from 1925 indicates that his parents are John Grimm and Rachel Miller. The census also states that his parents were born in Ohio and married in Ohio. Does anyone have any additional information to share?

Andrew Jackson BLOCKSOM. I am trying to determine which years he owned a drug store in Lisbon (New Lisbon). I have the following chain of owners from "The History of Columbiana County, OH published in 1879: Martin Helman (1836), Robert Scott, G.S. Vallandigham, A.J. Blocksom, Hostetter & Hamilton, and M.N. Hamilton (1879). Mr. Blocksom died April 2, 1869 at the age of 34. He was a LT. in Co. K, 143d Infantry which mustered at Camp Chase, OH 5/13/1864. I believe he owned the store after the war, possibly up to the date of his death. He was the son of Fisher A. Blocksom, a prominent attorney and citizen of Columbiana County. I found him living at home in both the 1850 and 1860 censuses. The record that probably solves the puzzle is a deed from Vallandigham to A.J. Blocksom. Any help will be most appreciated and I will generously compensate for any expenses.

I am searching for the parents of Townsend Richards, born 27 August 1798 in Virginia. In the 1820 Census for West Township, Columbiana County, Ohio, he is listed as age 16 to 18, married, wife age 16 to 26. In the 1830 census, he is listed as having 6 children. He is reported to have married Sarah McNeely on 1 June 1820 in Columbiana County. The family moved to Wayne County Illinois in 1838, with as many as nine children. As Townsend was somewhat young when he married, I was hoping that perhaps he was living with his parents in Columbiana County at the time. I have no clue as to where he might have been born in Virginia, but he and family members did list that as his place of birth in several censuses. Any information concerning his parents or possible siblings would be most appreciated.
