Mt. Zion-Galley Hill Cemetery
Vicinity of 5470 Mt. Zion Road, off Dry Run Road, Stonelick Township
N 39˚ 09.157 W084˚
11.142 within 15ft.
Take St.
Rt. 50 out of Milford towards Owensville. Pass
through Perintown. Out of Perintown on left you will come upon Dry
Run Road. Turn left. Turn right onto Mt.
Zion Road. Look for 5470 Mt. Zion Road. This is the
driveway you will turn down.
Notice fence along driveway on left you
will want to locate cemetery behind this fence and park along that area. Easy access,
but try and stay off of
residence driveway. In summer there may be poison ivy and
brush.
Pictures and additional inscriptions taken by Debra
Thomason,
volunteer, and Pamela Smith, CCGS
member, in October 2008. We found a “piece” of every stone
that was previously recorded. I expected
this cemetery to be in terrible shape, from rumors I heard, but thought
it was well kept for its age. We
probed a lot and used our shovels on and off all day. I feel
there are other stones that are buried very
deep or missing.
