Hoping someone familiar with Woodstock can help us out with the SMITHs. Looking for the parents of 3 Smith girls, Matilda b late 1830-mid 1840s, Eliza b abt 1853, and Lydia, b about 1858, who married 3 KENDALL brothers, Jediah, Stephen, and Abram. Eliza and Lydia may be sisters. All relocated in Auglaize, Shelby, and Mercer County then near Ft Wayne. Not sure if the Woodstock SMITHS are the right ones. Several family members lived in the area. My Gr-gr-grandparents, Francis and Arletha EMERSON were in Champaign in 1840. They moved on to Logan and Van Wert Counties. I recently found that Arleth EMERSON is in Champaign Co. again in 1900 age given as 85. Would like any information on her that is available. Have no death date or cemetery. Any help appreciated. Would like info on descendants of the family of James H. and Virginia A. (MONROE) HARDESTY, including CRESS, and SNAPP. James, aka Hoppyy or Hopkins, died in Logan Co. OH after living in Champaign and is buried in Concord cem in Champaign as is his wife, who died 2 Mar 1902. Known children: Joseph, Edward, John, and Lillie. Would like to know names of parents of Henson H. MONROE (who was the father of Virginia (MONROE) HARDESTY). He married Eliza Campbell in Loudoun County,VA and came to Shelby Co. OH about 1833-4. His children lived in several counties neighboring Shelby. He is said to have been 1 of 3 MONROE brothers who married CAMPBELL sisters. Would like info on descendants of William and Christina (NOFFSINGER) KESSLER. He b 9 Nov 1829 in Botetourt Co. VA. She there 21 Jan 1837. He d in Champaign Co. 13 Jan 1918 and she d there 18 May 1892. Both bur in Concord cemetery there. Known children: Mrs W. N. HOUGH, Mrs N. F. FISHER, Mrs Charles (Sarah Nancy) HARDESTY, and Mrs E. N. MORROW. There were supposed to have been 1 son and 6 daughters.

Looking for any Ancestors or information on William GOLDSMITH. 1. William1 GOLDSMITH was born in Virginia 1814 (1850, Census). William died 27 Mar 1860 in Westminster Ohio, at 45 years of age. He married twice. He married Nancy (?) Abt 1839. Nancy was born Dec 29, 1821. Nancy died 29 Nov 1848 in Westminster, Allen Co., Ohio, at 26 years of age. A Nancy MARSHALL married a William GOLDSMITH on April 11, 1839 in Champaign Co., Ohio. Whether this is the same Nancy, I do not know. But the date is very close to what I would estimate it to be. William Goldsmith and Nancy Unknown had the following children: i. SAMUEL was born Nov 15, 1841 (The birth and death dates came from his tombstone in Westminster Ohio). Samuel died 26 AUG 1853 in Allen Co., Ohio, at 11 years of age. Samuel was listed as a household member living with William Goldsmith on the 1850 Census Perry Twp., Allen Co., Ohio. Head Age/Sex 36/Male. Census page 292. ii. Hamilton was born 1843. His body was interred in in Illinois.. Hamilton was listed as a household member living with William GOLDSMITH on the 1850 Census Perry Twp., Allen Co., Ohio. Census Census page 292. iii. Sara Elizabeth was born 1846. Sara was listed as a household member living with William GOLDSMITH on the 1850 Census Perry Twp., Allen Co., Ohio. Head Age/Sex 36/Male. Census page 292. Sara was listed as a household member living with Sophia WARNER in the 1860 Census in Allen Co., Ohio. Head Age/Sex 31/Female. William GOLDSMITH second married Sophia WARNER in Allen County, Ohio.
