ROYCE, HAIT/HAIGHT, TYMESON
Query = Adeline TYMESON was widowed when her husband Aaron HAIT died in 1848. I assume there was some kind of contagion, because she lost her two boys as well that year. By the time of 1850 census, she is listed alone with two daughters, Esther HAIT and Minerva ROYCE in the Town of Thompson. It appears that she must have married very shortly after being widowed, then within a year or so was widowed again. The question is, which ROYCE did she marry? I'm trying to track down the name of her husband. Any and all leads welcome!

Sleath - Palmer - Bailey - Sanford
Query = I am looking for early Sullivan County ancestral information about my maternal grandfather, Willis Sleath. Willis Sleath and his wife Clara Hannah Bailey owned and operated a dairy called Rose Hill Farm, in Ferndale, during the late 1800's and early 1900's. (I am wondering, by the way, if the farm or any part of it is still there.)

Both grandparents are buried at Fulton Cemetery, in Bethel Township.

Willis's mother was Hannah Sanford, of what was ultimately an old New England family. I know quite a bit about the Sanford side of the family, and would be glad to share what I know with anyone interested.

I know less about Clara Bailey's mother's family, who were Palmers, and I am especially interested in information about distant Palmer ancestors.
I am especially interested in the Scottish roots of the Sleath family. The first Sleath (supposedly a "Sir John Leeth" or "Leith" - the name was originally spelled "Leath" or "Leeth" or "Leith") supposedly came to what would become Sullivan county after leaving Great Britain following the failure of the supporters of Charles III to return the Stuart line to the throne, in about 1745 or so.

I understand that there were other Scotsmen who came to this part of New York at that time and a little later, and I am especially interested in learning all I am able about this relocation and my Sleath ancestors' association with other early Sullivan County families. Any and all information would be greatly appreciated, and I myself may have some interesting information for interested Palmers, Baileys and Sanfords. Thanks for your time.
