Mary Lewis was born 3 September 1838 at Penbryn, Cardiganshire County, Wales the daughter of Thomas and Martha (Evans) Lewis she was baptised 5 September 1838 at the Glynarthen Independant Chapel, Penbryn, Cardiganshire County, Wales. She married Evan Griffis. She died 19 of January or June 1886 at Dekalb, New York and is buried in the Wayside Cemetery, Richville, New York
