January 1 - Wednesday - Cut 10 foot posts all day.

January 2 - Thursday - Cut pole wood all day. I went up after the mail.

January 3 - Friday - Cut pole wood all day.

January 4 - Saturday - Cut pole wood all day. FC.C.C. and I went down to Bath. Stayed all night.

January 5 - Sunday - Clara had her sick headache all day. I.C.? and I went got Dr. while Lottie got dinner.

January 9 - Saturday - M., D., K. and I went to Bath. Came to Avoca and went to party in hall.

January 16 - Saturday - Bert and I went up to Fred Zimmer’s. Had a dandy time. Came to Avoca on Sunday.

January 17 - Sunday - Came to Avoca and Lottie and I went to M.E. Church.

January 18 - Monday - Sorted potatoes in am. Went up to Uncle Lewis’s in pm. Came near freezing to death.

January 19 - Tuesday - Went to Mt. Morris. Had a dandy time. Came home on No. 8. Got up to Uncle Lewis’s at 8:45 pm.

January 20 - Wednesday - Went to Wayland after a load of coal. Then came to Avoca and up to Wheeler’s to class meeting

January 21 - Thursday - Felt like the devil and took a load of wood downtown. Sawed logs in pm. Went up to Crawford’s in eve.

January 22 - Friday - Cut logs and ground feed. Went to A.J. Beal’s to a social. Had a dandy time. Got home 3:30 am.

January 23 - Saturday - Cut logs in am. It rained in pm. Went to bed early.

January 24 - Sunday - Went to Sunday school. Came home. Miller came over. Went to M.E. Church with S.M.C. in eve.

January 25 - Monday - Drawed manure in am. Ground feed in pm. Stayed at home in evening. Went to bed early.

January 26 - Tuesday - Skidded logs off the side hill. Went down town in evening. Had a large time.

January 27 - Wednesday - Drawed limb wood out of the woods all day. Art and I went down town in eve. Got home at 11 pm.

January 28 - Thursday - Went to the Farmer’s Institute. Stayed all evening.

January 29 - Friday - Went to Mrs. Bealfelts funeral. Maurice Kausch came home with me.

January 30 - Saturday - Went down to Bath. Pa and I stayed at home in eve.

January 31 - Sunday - Went down to Sunday school. Then down with L. Mc to dinner. Maurice and I went up to Uncle Lewis’s in pm.

February 1 - Monday - Went down to Wayland after a load of coal.

February 2 - Tuesday - It stormed like hell all day. Didn’t get out of doors.

February 3 - Wednesday - Went down to Wayland after another load of coal.

February 4 - Thursday - Had a BIG time all day. Had chicken soup.

February 5 - Friday - Went skunk hunting. Was up to Frank B. to dinner. Went calling in evening.

February 6 - Saturday - The wind blowed a fright. I went down to Wayland.

February 7 - Sunday - Walked to Fred Zimmer’s. Stayed to dinner. Then went to Cohocton. Took the train home.

February 8 - Monday - Thomas Rupert came up in am. Was here to dinner in pm. Buzzed wood until 5 pm. 7 cords.

February 9 - Tuesday - Put straw in barn and drawed wood home from the woods. Went down town in the evening. Had a dandy time.

February 10 - Wednesday - It rained in am. Had early dinner. Then went down to Avoca to the exhibition.

February 11 - Thursday - It stormed like hell all day. We split wood all day. Stayed at home in the evening.

February 12 - Friday - Went up to Cohocton after the saw. Went to Sonerbeers in Horning. Had a large time.

February 13 - Saturday - Came home with saw. Then went down in evening.

February 14 - Sunday - Stayed at home all day. Then went down town to see the Kid. Had a dandy time.

February 15 - Monday - It stormed all day. Pa drew loads of wood. Fixed the saw and went down town to the show.

February 16 - Tuesday - Cut logs all day... Found a bee tree. I went down town to see Lottie. Had a dandy time.

February 17 - Wednesday - Pa and Ma went to House’s sale. Art and I got the honey out of the tree. Went down town in evening. Had a dandy7 time.

February 18 - Thursday - Pa and I went to Bath. I had my teeth filled. Stopped off in Avoca. Had a dandy time.

February 19 - Friday - Skidded logs out of the woods. Maurice came over. Went over to Mill’s in the evening.

February 20 - Saturday - Ma went down to Bath to the law suite. I went down in eve. Had a dandy time.

February 21 - Sunday - Went down to Sunday school. Stayed down with Lottie. Went to church in eve. Had a dandy time.

February 22 - Monday - Skidded logs and went skunk hunting. Stayed at home and wrote to Lottie.

February 23 - Tuesday - Missing.

February 24 - Wednesday - Started the drag saw in pm. Took my wheel apart in am. Went down town in evening.

February 25 - Thursday - Fixed my wheel in am. Took my saw wood in pm. Henry Louch came up and fixed the sewing machine.

February 26 - Friday - Fixed the saw and sawed some wood in pm and went to skunk hunting.

February 27 - Saturday - Went skunk hunting. Got two. Put the engine in the engine room. Stayed at home in evening.

February 28 - Sunday - Went down to Sunday school. Drive to Robinson’s. Down to Bath in eve. Had a dandy time.

March 1 - Monday - Went skunk hunting. Got one. Went up to Crawford’s in eve.

March 2 - Tuesday - Went skunking. Got 3. Art went down town. Taped my boots and wrote Charlotte.

March 3 - Wednesday - Pa helped me move Dentlinger. Art and I sorted potatoes and drawed. I went down town to Bath in eve.

March 4 - Thursday - Art and I sorted potatoes. George Schwingel and Ida came down. Art and I pumped water in am.

March 5 - Friday - Ground feed. Went down town in evening. Got returns from the skunks.

March 6 - Saturday - Mr. Fox and I went over to Doake’s. Bought 4 skins. Went down and sold them to Ackley.

March 7 - Sunday - Came home. Cleaned up. Went up to Uncle Jake’s with Lottie. Had a dandy time.

March 8 - Monday - Sawed wood with the drag saw. Went to bed early.

March 9 - Tuesday - Rained nearly all day. Went down town after a belt..

March 10 - Wednesday - Art and I went down to Kanona to the shop. Maurice K. and J. C.K.. came over.

March 11 - Thursday - Sawed wood all day. Uncle J. came over.

March 12 - Friday - Sawed wood all day. Uncle Jake came over in pm.

March 13 - Saturday - Sawed wood in am. Slabbed wood in pm.

March 14 - Sunday - Stayed at home and took a bath and slept.

March 15 - Monday - Drawed out. Buzzed wood all day. J.C. Kausch came over and drawed wood.

March 16 - Tuesday - Drawed out wood in pm. It stormed in am.

March 17 - Wednesday - It stormed all day. I went to Emery’s in pm and to class social in evening.

March 18 - Thursday - Maurice came over and we buzzed wood and drag, sawed wood all day.

March 19 - Friday - Drag, sawed wood all day. Finished the wood. Art and I went down town in eve.

March 20 - Saturday - Went to D.C. Barden’s auction. Then stayed down with Lottie.

March 21 - Sunday - Went to Sunday school and to church at M.E. in eve. Had a dandy time.

March 22 - Monday - Drawed out wood in am. Pa and Bert drawed wood down town in pm.

March 23 - Tuesday - Filled the boxes on the line shaft in the am. Pressed hay in pm.

March 24 - Wednesday - Drawed hay in am. Pitched hay in pm

March 25 - Thursday - Split wood all day. Went down to the shop. Had a dandy time. Uncle Adam came. It stormed like the deuce.

March 26 - Friday - Stormed all day. We went over to Uncle Jake’s. Stayed to dinner. Went down town. Came home and went to bed early.

March 27 - Saturday - Got the engine out in am and sawed wood with drag saw. Had a dandy time..

March 28 - Sunday - Went down to Bath on D.L. (Reader’s note: Delaware Lackawanna Railroad.) Came back on the 11:11. Had a dandy time.

March 29 - Monday - Helped Ma wash in am. Went to Kanona in pm. Got home at 11:00.

March 30 - Tuesday - Went down to Loon Lake to commence work. Got there at 8 pm. Road were muddy.

March 31 - Wednesday - Went to Atlanta in am and to Wayland in pm.

April 1 - Thursday - Sorted potatoes in pm.

April 2 - Friday - Put up a grist and sorted potatoes the rest of the day.

April 3 - Saturday - Sorted potatoes in cellar all day. Went home and stayed all night.

April 4 - Sunday - With Lottie. Had a dandy time. Came up on the 11:11 and walked up from Cohocton.

April 5 - Monday - Sorted potatoes in am. Went to find a hired girl and buy some hay with Lottie.

April 6 - Tuesday - Drove cows over to Perkinsville. Came home and went and got the hired girl. Wrote to Lottie.

April 7 - Wednesday - Drawed manure all day like a cus. The wind blowed like the ole'; Harry.

April 8 - Thursday - Sorted potatoes in am. Took the women to the society meeting in pm. I wrote to Lottie in the evening.

April 9 - Friday - Went to Wayland after some feed in am. Sorted potatoes in pm.

April 10 - Saturday - Sorted potatoes in am. Aunt Julia and I went to Wayland in pm.

April 11 - Sunday - Stayed at home in am. Wrote to Lottie in pm. In evening Maurice and I went to church.

April 12 - Monday - Maurice and I drawed manure all day. The wind blowed like the deuce.

April 13 Tuesday - Maurice and I drawed manure all day. Aunt Julia went to Wayland. I got a letter from Lottie.

April 14 - Wednesday - Maurice and I drawed manure all day. I wrote to Lottie. Went down to Hoffman’s

April 15 - Thursday - Maurice and I drawed manure all day. Maurice got mad and went home.

April 16 - Friday - I drawed manure in am. The sheep sheerer came in pm..

April 17 - Saturday - I drawed 2 loads of potatoes down to Wayland. Then went home. Got to Avoca at 8:15.

April 18 - Sunday - Washed my buggy. Went down town. Lottie and I went for a ride. Had a dandy time. Started home at 7:45.

April 19 - Monday - Uncle Lewis and I drawed potatoes all day. It rained a little at noon.

April 20 - Tuesday - Uncle Lewis and I drawed potatoes all day. Miiller’s folks were up. I wrote to Lottie.

April 21 - Wednesday - Uncle Lewis and I drawed potatoes in am. I and Spruce sorted and Uncle Lewis went after his cow.

April 22 - Thursday - I plowed all day. Uncle Lewis and A.J. went to Wayland I wrote to Lottie in evening. Had company.

April 23 - Friday - I plowed all day. Was tired as the deuce.

April 24 - Saturday - Plowed in am. Took Uncle Lewis’s folks to Wayland in pm. Went down after Art to Cohocton.

April 25 - Sunday - Art and I stayed at home all day. I wrote a letter to Lottie in the evening.

April 26 - Monday - Plowed all day. Uncle Lewis’s folks came home. I went down to Wayland in evening after them.

April 27 - Tuesday - Plowed all day. The wind blowed like the deuce. I wrote to Lottie in the evening.

April 28 - Wednesday - Took the hired girl home. Drawed manure and hay. Uncle Lewis went to Wayland with a grist.

April 29 - Thursday - Plowed all day. It rained in pm. Snow at night.

April 30 - Friday - Had a bee to draw potatoes. Took down 5 loads. Went down to Shaver’s.

May 1 - Saturday - Sorted potatoes in am. I went down to Wayland and Atlanta in pm and home in evening.

May 2 - Sunday - Went down to Avoca to Sunday school. Stayed to Lottie’s to supper. Had a dandy time.. Came home. Started 10 pm got here 12:45 am.

May 3 - Monday - Drawed potatoes all day. George Miller went down with me both loads.

May 4 - Tuesday - Plowed in am. Tired ole’ Bill out. Put my horses in pm and turned her to Fred Hoffman’s horse.

May 5 - Wednesday - Plowed in am with my horse and dragged in pm. Uncle Lewis went to Waring’s funeral.

May 6 - Thursday - Dragged all day with my horse.

May 7 - Friday - Went to Wayland after the plumber and drilled in am. Took him home in pm. Went down S.’s old house

May 8 - Saturday - Rolled all day and dragged. Went down town in eve.

May 9 - Sunday - Drove down to Avoca in am. It rained in pm so I stayed with Lottie and came home Monday in am.

May 10 - Monday - Got home 8 am. Clipped old Bill. Went up to Shoemaker’s and fixed the windmill.

May11 - Tuesday - Fixed fence in am. Plowed and butchered in pm. Wrote to Lottie in evening.

May 12 - Wednesday - Plowed all day and fixed my shoes in the evening.

May 13 - Thursday - Dragged and finished sowing oats. I wrote to Lottie in the evening.

May 14 - Friday - Plowed all day. Went down to see George Miller in the evening.

May 15 - Saturday - Loaded some sheep and plowed all day. Went up to Griss’ after hog. Walked to Cohocton. Took train home.

May 16 - Sunday - Got home 1:30 am Saturday. Up 7:30 am . Had my hair cut. Went down town to see Lottie. Had a dandy time. Drove up to Loon Lade 11:30 pm.

May 17 - Monday - Dragged potato ground all day. Uncle Lewis went to the raise?.

May 18 - Tuesday - Dragged in am. Drawed manure in pm. Wrote to Lottie in evening.

May 19 - Wednesday - Planted potatoes in pm.

May 20 - Thursday - Plowed in pm. Drawed manure in am. Went to Wayland in eve.

May 21 - Friday - Plowed all day and wrote to Lottie in evening.

May 22 - Saturday - Plowed all day. Uncle Lewis and I went to stay at Wayland. Got home at 1:45 pm.

May 23 - Sunday - Went to church in am. Then down to Hoffman’s. Came home. Got my dinner and went down to Uncle W.M. Newfang’s.

May 24 - Monday - Got up at 5 am. I went to work. Plowed in am. Dragged in pm. ? the sheep. Got done work at 8:30.

May 25 - Tuesday - Dragged all day. Went after some tobacco for Uncle Lewis.

May 26 - Wednesday - Dragged in am. Plowed in pm. Got a load of hay and wrote a letter to Lottie.

May 27 - Thursday - Rained in am. Planted potatoes in 9 acres. Commenced raining at 2 pm. Went to Wayland in eve.

May 28 - Friday - Planted potatoes all day. Went down to Cohocton after Lottie. Rained all the way home.

May 29 - Saturday - Finished planting the 9 acres and Lottie and I came home. Got here at 9 pm.

May 30 - Sunday - Was done to see Lottie at 11 am. Had a dandy time. Clair R. was up at our house.

May 31 - Monday - Got home 1:30 am and plowed all day. Went to bed early.

June 1 - Tuesday - Finished plowing the 5-acres. Sold the rest of the potatoes. I wrote to Lottie in the eve.

June 2 - Wednesday - Went to Hornell to the circus with Uncle Lewis. Had a nice time. It was 7:30 pm when we got home.

June 3 - Thursday - Dragged all day. Went fishing in eve. Got 3. Got home at 10 pm and wrote to L.M.

June 4 - Friday - Dragged in am and went to Bert’s in pm after hay. Planted potatoes in front of house.

June 5 - Saturday - It rained in am and took buggy apart in pm. Plowed corn.

June 6 - Sunday - Varnished my buggy. Our folks came up and Cliff stayed up with me. Went to church in evening and wrote to L.M.

June 7 - Monday - Marked in am and George S. took hog to S.J.. We planted potatoes in pm. Went boat riding in evening.

June 8 - Tuesday - Claude N. and I finished planting the potatoes. Will H.’s folks were all over here. Uncle Lewis was sick.

June 9 - Wednesday - Chased cows, sheep and hogs in am. I drawed manure in pm. Went to Wayland in evening.

June 10 - Thursday - Cleaned cellar. Set out cabbage plants in pm. George Miller’s folks were up in eve.

June11 - Friday - Went down to Cohocton in am after some feed. Drawed manure, ashes and wood in pm.

June 12 - Saturday - Helped Coon plant potatoes. Went home in pm.

June 13 - Sunday - L.M. and I were up at our house. Had a dandy time. Went down to Avoca at 2 pm. It rained so I stayed at Uncle Jake’s all night.

June 14 - Monday - Got home at 8:45 am. Helped wash and fix screens in pm.

June 15 - Tuesday - Work in garden. Churned in pm. Wrote to Lottie in evening.

June 16 - Wednesday - Drawed 2 loads of ties from Douris’s? and went to Cohocton at night.

June 17 - Thursday - Drawed ties in am and put screen doors on. Worked in garden and wrote to Lottie.

June 18 - Friday - Cultivated our first potatoes.

June 19 - Saturday - Cultivated all day. Art came up. We went down to Cohocton in evening.

June 20 - Sunday - Stayed at home in am. Art and I went to lake in pm and in evening helped H. Newfang fix auto.

June 21 - Monday - Cultivated potatoes.

June 22 - Tuesday - Drawed ties in am and cultivated garden in pm.

June 23 - Wednesday - Drawed ties in am.

June 24 - Thursday - Drawed ties in am. Patched roof in pm. Mowed lawn in pm.

June 25 - Friday - Worked on road in am and in pm cultivated in 8-acre lot. Rode in auto and took a bath.

June 26 - Saturday - Cultivated potatoes in 9-acre lots all day. Went home at night. Uncle F., Miller’s folks and Luella was there. Had a good time.

June 27 - Sunday - Went down to see Lottie. Had a dandy time. Got home 2 am Monday morning.

June 28 - Monday - Drawed stone and drove cow in am. Cultivated in 5-acre lot in pm. Went to bed early.

June 28 - Tuesday - Finished 5-acre lot and worked in 9-acre lot until night. Washed my buggy at night.

June 30 - Wednesday - Cultivated all day. Went to Wayland at night and had a tooth pulled.

July 1 - Thursday - Cultivated all day. Lewis’s folks went to Mt. Morris. Will Ebersold’s folks came over

July 2 - Friday - Shovel-plowed all day. Uncle Lewis and Will Ebersold went down to Cohocton. Stayed all day. I took a bath at night.

July 3 - Saturday - Cultivated all day. The B.F. girls came up. Lottie and I went down to Wallace with them.

July 4 - Sunday - L.M. and I went to church in pm. Went to lake and for a ride in eve to children’s day exercises.

July 5 - Monday - Went to lake in pm. Had a dandy time in eve. L.Mc. and I went to Wayland.

July 6 - Tuesday - Mowed hay all day. L.Mc. and I, A..J. and L. E.. went to F. Drum’s. Lottie keep house for us..

July 7 - Wednesday - Mowed hay in am. Raked hay in pm and Libby and Lottie went to Hornell. I was sick. Went to bed early.

July 8 - Thursday - Drawed hay in am and raked in pm.

July 9 - Friday- Drawed in hay and mowed. Went down to Wayland in evening after Lottie.

July 10 - Saturday - Drawed in hay and helped F. Miller. Then went down home. Had a dandy time.

July 11 - Sunday - Lewis K. and H. Baxter over to our house. I went down to see L.Mc. Started home 12 am.

July 12 - Monday - Cultivated hay in am and mowed. Was sleepier than the devil.

July 13 - Tuesday - Cultivated, raked hay and drawed in hay. N.L. went to town. Washed my buggy.

July 14 - Wednesday - Poisoned bugs all day in the 9-acre lot. Wrote Lottie in evening.

July 15 - Thursday - Killed bugs all day. Went down to Cohocton in evening.

July 16 - Friday - Killed bugs all day.

July 17 - Saturday - Killed bugs all day. Went to Wayland in the evening.

July 18 - Sunday - Got up at 6 am. I drove home and back at night. Lottie was sick with sore throat. Got home 1:30 am.

July 19 - Monday - Shovel-plowed all day. Uncle Lewis went to Cohocton.

July 20 - Tuesday - Shovel-plowed in am and cultivated corn and cradled rye in pm. Went to bed at 9 pm.

July 21 - Wednesday - Started binder in rye in am. It rained in pm. Cleaned cistern and wrote Lottie in evening.

July 22 - Thursday - Bound rye in am. It rained in pm. H. Newfang was ere. I went to bed early.

July 23 - Friday - I went to Wayland in am after salt and wine in pm. Built fence and set up rye. Went down to Cohocton at night.

July 24 - Saturday - Cleaned out hen house in am. Cut rye and set it up in pm. Went home in eve.

July 25 - Sunday - Got up at 7 o’clock. Pa cut my hair and then went down town. L.Mc. and I went walking. Had a dandy time. Got home at 2 am.

July 26 - Monday - Shovel-plowed potatoes all day. J. Chambers went home. Went to bed early.

July 27 - Tuesday - Killed bugs all day. Got some tobacco at night.

July 28 - Wednesday - Uncle Lewis and A.J went to Dansville and I shovel-plowed potatoes all day.

July 29 - Thursday - Shovel-plowed in am. Shelled peas in pm. Went to Wayland in evening.

July 30 - Friday - Cut wheat in am. Plowed mash in pm.

July 31 - Saturday - Scraped in the mash and drawed in the wheat. Shovel-plowed in the pm. Went to Cohocton in the eve.

August 1 - Sunday - Drive down to Avoca in am. Had a dandy time. L.M. went for a walk in pm. Got home at 2:20 am.

August 2 - Monday - Drawed in rye in am. Uncle Lewis and I went to funeral and I cut brush in pm.

August 3 - Tuesday - Drawed in rye in am. Uncle Lewis took J.C. to the station in pm. I picked stone and went to an S. meeting.

August 4 - Wednesday - Picked stone all day. Wrote to Lottie in evening.

August 5 - Thursday - Drawed in rye for Miller in am. Cut barley and oats in pm. Went to Wayland .

August 6 - Friday - Cut oats all . Took a bath in evening.

August 7 - Saturday - Mowed oats and raked them up. Went home in evening. Had a dandy time.

August 8 - Sunday - Bert was to Naples. Went down to F. Clark’s for dinner. Stayed at F. all the pm. Had a dandy time. Got home at 2:15.

August 9 - Monday - Drawed in oats all day. P. Slaver helped too.

August 10 - Tuesday - Raked stubble and cut brush in am. In pm drawed in oats. Wrote to L.M.

August 11 - Wednesday - Went berrying in am. Bound oats in pm. The Schwingel girls and L.B. came up.

August 12 - Thursday - Finished binding oats and went to Wayland. Had my horse shod and got some coal.

August 13 - Friday - Drawed in oats all day. Was sick nearly all day.

August 14 - Saturday - I fixed the watering trough and Uncle Lewis went to Wayland.

August 15 - Sunday - Stayed at home. Went to church in am. Wrote to L.M. in pm..

August 16 - Monday - Went berrying in am. Drawed manure in pm. Went to Avoca in eve. Had a dandy time.

August 17 - Tuesday - Went to Soldier’s and Sailor’s Home to the picnic with L.M. Had a dandy time. I came home. Got up here at 11 am. Got up at 8 am.

August 18 - Wednesday - Drawed manure in am and in pm. Went to bed early.

August 19 - Thursday - Drawed manure from Wayland.

August 20 - Friday - Plowed all day for wheat.

August 21 - Saturday - Plowed in am. Went to picnic and went home in pm.

August 22 - Sunday - L.Mc. was up to our house. Had a dandy time. Got home at 2:30.

August 23 - Monday - Felt like a fool. Shovel-plowed all day.

August 24 - Tuesday - Shovel-plowed and thrashed the rest of the day.

August 25 - Wednesday - Drawed straw to Wayland. The thrashers came.

August 26 - Thursday - It rained in am. Thrashed nearly all day.

August 27 - Friday - Drawed straw in am. My horse was hurt. I was to Sick’s.

August 28 - Saturday - Chored around all the am. Went to Wayland. Home with J.K.

August 29 - Sunday - Went down town with Pa to see L.Mc. Had a dandy time. Came home on 5.

August 30 - Monday - Picked stone all day. Got home at 12:35.

August 31 - Tuesday - Went to Wayland in am. Tinkered in pm. Uncle Lewis’s folks were at Ed Sick’s.

September 1 - Wednesday - Burned brush in am. Cleaned up wheat in pm. Wrote Ma at night.

September 2 - Thursday - Dragged in am. Sowed wheat in pm. Bert came at night. Went to fair.

September 3 - Friday - Picked stone in am. Bert and I went to Uncle Fred Miller’s in Dansville. Had a dandy time.

September 4 - Saturday - Went down to Dansville in eve. Had a dandy time.

September 5 - Sunday - Came to Uncle Lewis Strick. Done the chores and rode to Avoca with Bert. Came back on 5. Had a good time.

September 6 - Monday - I picked stone all day. Went to bed 8:30.

September 7 - Tuesday - Picked stone all day. Went to bed 8:30.

September 8 - Wednesday - Picked stone all day. Wrote to L.Mc.

September 9 - Thursday - Picked stones in am. Shingled back house in pm.

September 10 - Friday - It rained in am. Cleaned oats and went to mill.

September 11 - Saturday - Cleaned well. Picked stones and went to lake and home in pm.

September 12 - Sunday - Went down to see L.M. Had a dandy time. Came home at 1 o’clock.

September 13 - Monday - Picked stone all day. In am alone.

September 14 - Tuesday - Finished picking stone in am and in pm drove the sheep home. William Harvey was here.

September 15 - Wednesday - Cut buckwheat all day for P. Schwingel with the cradle. Was tired some.

September 16 - Thursday - Drawed hay from Bert P. and cut the colt.

September 17 - Friday - Cut brush and thinned out trees in 3-acre lot.

September 18 - Saturday - Built fence around orchard. Went home in evening. Got home 10 pm. Had a fine time.

September 19 - Sunday - Went down to Avoca in am. went home to dinner. Then down to see L.Mc. Had a dandy time. Had a dandy time. Got home at 1 am.

September 20 - Monday - Cut brush and burned in am. Made some eaveners in pm.

September 21 - Tuesday - Helped Ed Hoffman put on some roofing all day.

September 22 - Wednesday - Helped Ed Hoffman put on roofing all day.

September 23 - Thursday - Dipped the sheep in am. Cut corn in pm. Wrote to L.Mc. in eve.

September 24 - Friday - Fixed fence and cut corn in pm while Uncle Lewis went to Wayland.

September 25 - Saturday - Finished corn. I fixed the dug road. Started home. I met Bert.

September 26 - Sunday - Bert and Art were up here. It rained like the devil. Went to church. Had a dandy time.

September 27 - Monday - Drawed manure in pm. I went to Patchinsville to school meeting.

September 28 - Tuesday - I helped wash in am and picked pears in pm.

September 29 - Wednesday - Picked pears all day. Went home to go to fair. Went home on 1:40. Had a dandy time.

September 30 - Thursday - Went to Bath Fair with Pa Ma and L.Mc. Had a dandy time. It rained at night so I stayed all night and came home next day.

October 1 - Friday - Got home at 10 am. Drove up in 2 hours. Picked apples all the rest of the day.

October 2 - Saturday - Helped C. Newfang cut kilo all day. Harry and I went to Wayland in evening.

October 3 - Sunday - Stayed at home in am. Drove up to Guasse’s? and down to Aunt Julia’s in pm.

October 4 - Monday - Dug potatoes all day. Took apples down to D.L. station in pm.

October 5 - Tuesday - Dug potatoes all day. Went down to Wayland. Got a shirt and a carbide and some postcards.

October 6 - Wednesday - Dragged the 3-acre lot and got 30 bus. in am. In pm dug headland round 9 acres.

October 7 - Thursday - Helped Ed Hoffman thrash all day. Was tired as the D-----.

October 8 - Friday - Dug potatoes all day. Was tired as the D. Took a bath.

October 9 Saturday - Dug all day. Went home in evening.

October 10 - Sunday - I went down town after the girls R., L., Mc. Had a dandy time. Our folks were up to Uncle Lewis’s. Came home at 12.

October 11 - Monday - Dragged potatoes ground. It rained so W.S. and I went down to Wallace after the cow.

October 12 - Tuesday - Went down to Cohocton after cow in am. Dug potatoes in pm. Talked with Bert at night.

October 13 - Wednesday - Was frozen so I could not dig so I went to Mills in eve and I went to Coon’s in auto and helped A.J. in pm.

October 14 - Thursday - Cut up hog in am and A.J. in pm. Dug potatoes. Went to Wayland in evening.

October 15 - Friday - Dug potatoes all day. Dug 258 bus. Wrote to Lottie in evening.

October 16 - Saturday - Snowed and rained all day. We dug 88 in the rain. I stayed at home at night.

October 17 - Sunday - Took the hired girl home and stopped at A.J.’s. The boys rode home with me.

October 18 - Monday - Dug potatoes in am. It snowed nearly all day. Went down to H. Hoag after a load of potatoes.

October 19 - Tuesday - Uncle Lewis and A.J. went down town in am. Roy Owen’s and I picked in am. Schwingel kids helped in pm. Dug 201 bus. in pm.

October 20 - Wednesday - Dug potatoes in am and in pm helped Shaver fill silo. Wrote to Lottie in eve.

October 21 - Thursday - Help Shaver fill silo nearly all day. Drawed in some potatoes. It rained and thundered and lightning.

October 22 - Friday - Dug all day. Took a bath and went to bed early.

October 23 - Saturday - Dug potatoes all day. Went home at night. All the way in the rain.

October 24 - Sunday - L.Mc. went up home with me on Saturday night. Had a dandy time all day. Started home at 10:45.

October 25 - Monday _ Went down to Bert Patchen’s after some hay for George Miller. Picked apples in pm.

October 26 - Tuesday - Uncle Lewis and A.J. went down to Fred S. funeral. I dug potatoes all day

October 27 - Wednesday - Dug potatoes in am. We finished. Picked apples in pm. Wrote to L.Mc.

October 28 - Thursday - Drawed manure all day. Uncle Lewis and I went to Wayland at night. I got me a sweater and a jacket.

October 29 - Friday - It was frozen so I couldn’t do much. Chored around in am. I went to Wayland after coal.

October 30 - Saturday - Set up stove and picked apples in pm. L.Mc. came up.

October 31 - Sunday - Lottie and I went up to H. Ebersold’s and had a good time. Took her to the train at night.

November 1 - Monday - Took down a load of potatoes in am and drawed a load of apples in pm.

November 2 - Tuesday - Picked apples in am and drawed them to Wayland in pm and voted.

November 3 - Wednesday - Went to Meaklerbacher’s after a load of wood. Went down to Hoffman’s in eve.

November 4 - Thursday - Had a bee. Huffman and Miller helped us draw wood. It snowed like hell all day. Got wet.

November 5 - Friday - Uncle Lewis and C. Newfang drawed wood. I split wood and went down to Wayland in evening.

November 6 - Saturday - Uncle Lewis and I drawed wood in am. I went home in pm. Had a dandy time.

November 7 - Sunday - Killed the dog. Jessie R. was up to our house. I went down to Lottie’s dinner and had a dandy time. Got home at 10:40.

November 8 - Monday - Uncle Lewis went to Mt. Morris. I drawed wood and piled some. The preacher was here.

November 9 - Tuesday - Finished drawing wood. Uncle Lewis came home. I wrote to Mother.

November 10 - Wednesday - I sorted potatoes and drawed a load in pm. Wrote to Lottie in evening

November 11 - Thursday - Drawed potatoes all day. Went to Wayland at night.

November 12 - Friday - Drawed potatoes all day. Went to church.

November 13 - Saturday - Drawed a load of potatoes in am. Took a hog over in pm. Art came up. We went to Wayland.

November 14 - Sunday - I went home with Art. Came up on #5. Had a dandy time. Got home4 at 1 am.

November 15 - Monday - Started the sheep for Mt. Morris in am. In pm I went over to P. Stuffle’s after a load of sawdust.

November 16 - Tuesday - Thrashed corn in am and helped Frank Miller thrash the rest of the day. Went to bed early.

November 17 - Wednesday - Mixed corn and oats in am. In pm Uncle Lewis sorted potatoes and I split wood. They went to church.

November 18 - Thursday - Sorted potatoes all day. Went to church in evening.

November 19 - Friday - Drawed potatoes in pm. Started in am. Went down to Huffman’s at night.

November 20 - Saturday - Drawed potatoes down and away. Home all day. Went home at night.

November 21 - Sunday - Lottie was up to our house. Went home with her. Stayed all night. Had a dandy time.

November 22 - Monday - Bought a horse for a dollar and Maurice and I killed it and skinned it. Then I came home. Got up here at 7.

November 23 - Tuesday - Drawed rye to Wayland all day. Wrote to Lottie in evening.

November 24 - Wednesday - Chored around all day.

November 25 - Thursday - Thanksgiving Day. Had a dandy time. Newfang and family were here and all the boys.

November 26 - Friday - Took potatoes out of cellar and drawed manure the rest of the day. Went skunking with Harry.

November 27 - Saturday - Took up the pipe in the deep well.in am. Split wood in pm.

November 28 - Sunday - Took a bath. Washed my hair. Took a nap. Wrote to Lottie.

November 30 - Tuesday - Cut logs all day. Went to Horning bee at night. Got home at 10 pm.

December 1 - Wednesday - C.P. Newfang came over. We killed old Bill. Uncle Lewis went to P. Sick’s funeral. I went to Wayland in pm.

December 2 - Thursday - Cut logs all day.

December 3 - Friday - Cut logs in am. Went to lake after water. Went to Wayland at night.

December 4 - Saturday - Drawed out limb wood. Went after water in pm. Went down to Wayland after Art in evening.

December 5 - Sunday - Went to church in am. Then we started for home and went down to see Lottie. Had a dandy time At home 2 am.

December 6 - Monday - Fixed the pump in am. Uncle Lewis took a load of potatoes to Wayland. Started in pm.

December 7 - Tuesday - I sorted potatoes all day. Uncle Lewis drawed 2 loads of lumber. Ward was here to dinner.

December 8 - Wednesday - Sorted potatoes awhile in am. Then split wood until I cut my finger.

December 9 - Thursday - The women all went to Coon’s to a society meet. Uncle Lewis and I went to Wayland in pm. Went to bed early. Was cold.

December 10 - Friday - Took a load of potatoes down to Wayland and brought back a load of ties. Took a sleep.

December 11 - Saturday - Cut roots. Cut Paul’s hair. Went to mill in pm. Then Schwingel people came up.

December 12 - Sunday - Went to church and Sunday school. Then to Frank B.’s for dinner. Came over to O.P.N. Then home.

December 13 - Monday - Got up 7:40 am. Did the chores. Went over to Miller’s. Then came home.

December 14 - Tuesday - Came home. stopped at Avoca in evening. Had a dandy time.

December 15 - Wednesday - Went down town to mail our order to Sears Roebuck and Co. and have our picture taken.

December 17 - Friday - Chopped wood all day. Went over to V. Hoyt’s for party in eve.

December 18 - Saturday - Chopped wood in am. Stormed in pm. We did not work. Went down town.

December 19 - Sunday - Stayed at home in am. In pm Bert and I went to Miller’s. Then went to church with the girls .

December 20 - Monday - Pa and I went to Bath. Got back at 6:30 pm. Had a good time.

December 21 - Tuesday - Cut logs all day. Went down town at night after tank.

December 22 - Wednesday - Cut logs all day. Went down to church with Lottie. Pa went to Lodge.

December 23 - Thursday - Cut logs in am. Did not do anything in pm. Went down town in evening.

December 24 - Friday - Bert, Art and I went down to Bath in pm. Went to Christmas tree.

December 25 - Saturday - Went down tow in am. Jessie came. I went down to Avoca to get Lottie.

December 26 - Sunday - She stayed up. We had a dandy time. Snowed like fun. Took the girls home at night with the sleigh.

December 27 - Monday - Took Bert down to Corbett’s in am. Came home and got ready to saw wood.

December 28 - Tuesday - Pa and I took engine apart. Art went down after the Schwingel girls in the pm. We put the engine together.

December 29 - Wednesday - Fixed the engine in am. Went over and visited the school. Then went down town.

December 30 - Thursday - Went down town to have the dash fixed on the Dixy (Reader’s note: his bicycle).

December 31 - Friday - Took the girls down town. Got my Dixy. I stayed down. Had a dandy time. Bert, Lottie and I went up to Cohocton to look at some cutters. Had a dandy time.
