- NOTES: Benson Township, or Tract, was named for New York Senator Egbert Benson. Many of the earliest settlers arrived shortly after 1800 with Samuel Anibal (1774-1851) of Columbia County, among the first.
- ABSTRACT: A survey map of Benson Township (Tract), Hamilton County, New York copied from a map by B. Bleecker by L. Woodworth. A pencil annotation indicates the date as 1795. Landowners are listed on a few lots. See also accession number 20211 for lands in Kingsborough Patent, Fulton County for lands owned by the Woodworth family.
