- NOTES: Arrangement - Arranged mainly alphabetically by surname. George Aaron Goodspeed was a pharmacist who operated a drug store in Granville, New York. An index of families named in this collection is available at the Washington County Historian's Department.
- ABSTRACT: This collection mainly consists of newspaper clippings collected by George Aaron Goodspeed. Also included is correspondence he received, along with some notes, advertisements, and miscellaneous papers. These files contain information concerning hundreds of families in Washington County, New York, but there is also material pertaining to families in Warren, Saratoga, and Essex Counties in New York State and also in nearby Vermont. This collection was organized in its present form by Susan Wade, first Washington County Historian, who prepared an index to it in 1943.
