DUDLEY HAMMOND

Know all men by these presents that I Lebeus Hammond of New Town
in the County of Tioga and State and State of New York for and in consideration
of the sum of five hundred pounds lawful money of the said state of New
York to me hand paid by Dudley Hammond of the Town and county aforesaid
have given granted bargained Sold remised released and forever quit claim
unto the said Dudley Hammond his heirs and assigns all that certain Lot
piece or tract of land situate in number five in the first range in the
County of Steuben and known by the name of Conets farm and is bounded
as follows to wit: Beginning at a stake in the Town line thence south
eighty eight degrees, east one hundred and sixteen Chains to a stake near
a large white oak tree notched and blazed thence North two degrees east
thirty six chains and thirty eight links to a large stake on the south
side of the hill thence north eighty eight Degrees West parallel with the
south bounds and crossing the Lake one hundred and sixteen chains to a
Stake on the Town line thence along the said town line south two degrees
west thirty six Chains and thirty eight to the place of beginning Containing
four hundred acres of Land as per survey the 19th day of September A.D.
1799 Together with all and singular the rights members hereditaments and
appurtenances to the said lot or piece of land belonging or in any wise
appertaining, or which now are or formerly have been used occupied or enjoyed
as part or parcel thereof and the reversion and Reversions Remainder and
Remainders Rents issues and profits of all singular the said premises above
granted, with the appurtenances and all the Estate right title interest
Claim and Demand whatsoever both in law and Equity of him the said Lebus
of in and to all and Singular the said premises above granted and every
part and parcel thereof with appurtenances to the only benefit and behoof
of him the said Dudley and his heirs and assigns forever. In witness
whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and seal this sixth day of February
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred.

Steuben County On the sixth day of February in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred Lebeus Hammond came personally before
one Wm Kersey Esquire one of the Judges of the Court of Common pleas in
and for the county aforesaid he acknowledged that he executed the forgoing
instrument of writing as and for his voluntary act and deed for the uses
there in mentioned. I knowing him to be the person therein named
and described as the Grantor and finding no material erasments or interlineations
to the said Deed except those noted do allow it to be recorded.
