This Indenture made this sixth day of February in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred Between Dudley Hammond of New Town in the
county of Tioga and State of New York yeoman and Pibbel his wife of the
first part and Justice Bennett of the Town Chemung and County and State
aforsaid yeoman of the second part Witnesseth that the said party of the
first part for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred pounds lawful
money of the state of New York to them in hand paid by the said Party of
the second part the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have and each
of them Hath granted, bargained, sold, aliened, released, conveyed and
confirmed, and by these Presents Doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, release,
convey and confirm unto the said party of the second part and to his heirs
and assigns forever All that Certain Tract of Land situate in the
Number Five in the first Range In the County of Steuben and State aforsaid
and known by the name of Conets farm and is bounded as follows to wit:
Beginning at a stake on the town line thence south eighty eight degrees
east one hundred and sixteen chains to a stake near a large white oake
tree notched and blazed thence north two Degrees, East thirty six chains
and thirty eight links to a large stake on the south side of the hill thence
North eighty eight degrees west parallel with the south Bounds and crossing
the lake one hundred and sixteen chains to a stake on the Town line thence
along the said Town line South two degrees west thirty six chains and thirty
eight links to the Place of beginning containing four hundred acres of
Land as per survey the 19 Day of September .D 1799. Together with
all and singular the rights members hereditaments and appurtenances to
the said Lot or piece of Land belonging or in any wise appertaining, or
which now are or formerly have been used, occupied or enjoyed, as part
or parcel thereof and reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders
rents issues and profits of all and singular of the said premises above
granted with the appurtenances and also all the estate, right, title, interest,
claim and demand whatsoever both in law in equity of them the
said party of the first part of in and to all and singular the said premises
above granted and every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances
unto the said party of the second part to the only benefit and behoof of
him the said party of the second part and his heirs and assigns forever
and the said party of the first part for himself his heirs and assigns
against any person or persons Lawfully claiming or to claim any part of
the above granted premises will forever Warrant and Defend In Witness whereof
the parties to these presents have hereunto Interchangeably set their hands
and seals the day and year first above written.

Steuben County On the sixth day of February in the year one
thousand eight hundred, Dudley Hammond and Sybil his wife whom I know to
be the persons in this named and described as the Grantors came personally
before me William Kersey Esq. one of the Judges of the Court of Common
pleas in and for the said County and acknowledged they executed the
within Instrument of writing as and for their voluntary act and Deed
and the said Sybil being of full age and by one separately examined
accord to law acknowledged that she freely executed the same without any
compulsion of her Husband, and I finding no Material erasures or Interlineations
in said Deed do allow it to be Recorded.
