Homer Nelson obituary

March 1931

Homer Nelson, eldest son of Mrs. Belle Nelson, passed away at their home in Breakabeen Tuesday morning, March 10, after a few hours illness of angina pectoris. Although not in good health for the past five years the end came very suddenly. Mr. Nelson was born in Breakabeen April 5, 1883. His father, Charles Nelson, passed away in 1897 leaving the four sons who after a few years took up the work of the farm and have been very successful. The deceased was a good business man giving everyone a square deal, a good neighbor and friend always ready to lend a helping hand and was especially fond of children, never to ill or tired to entertain them. Homer, as he was familiarly known, will be missed in Breakabeen. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Louise Nelson, his mother, three brothers Stephen, William and Luther, two sisters Mrs. W. H. Baldwin and Mrs. Arthur Shafer, two nephews Charles and Arthur Nelson and a niece Ida Belle Nelson. Funeral services which were held at the home Friday afternoon were conducted by Rev. William B. Frith of the Breakabeen Presbyterian Church, who spoke very comforting words. Interment in Breakabeen Cemetery.
