Breakabeen Native Dies At E. Orange
Franklin P. Hamm, School Principal, Well Known In This County
October 1932

     Franklin P. Hamm, Principal of Waverly Avenue School, Newark, N. J., died Thursday, Oct. 13, in Homeopathic Hospital, East Orange. Burial was made at Breakabeen.
     Mr. Hamm was born in Breakabeen, Aug. 3, 1881. He was a graduate of the Oneonta Normal School and of Teachers' College, Columbia University, and received his master's degree at New York University in 1914.
     After starting as teacher in the district schools of Greene County, he taught in Hartford, Conn., and Camden. He had been a Principal in Newark since 1916.
     He was a member of the Newark Principal's Association and of Northern Lodge F. and A. M. He leaves a brother, Charles M. Hamm, of Jamaica, Long Island.
