(The Middleburgh Gazette)

Yielding to an incurable malady after months of affliction, Charles Mann entered into rest on Monday at his home in this village at the age of 71.
Born at Boucks' Falls in the town of Fulton, he resided there and at Breakabeen, following the vocation of farming until twenty years ago he removed to Middleburgh and has since taken an active part in affairs, always manifesting a willingness to aid every worthy cause by word and deed.
While a resident of Fulton, he served for many years as assessor, gaining an insight into farm and other real estate values which led to his employment by Attorney W. H. Grogan, representing the city of New York in the cases involving real estate values in the Gilboa territory taken over by the great reservoir at Gilboa.
Mr. Mann was a life long member of the Lutheran church, both at Breakabeen and Middleburgh, a member of the Council, a Deacon and a Sunday School worker.
