In 1886, William S. Pelletreau published his "History of Putnam County, New York with Biographical Sketches of its Prominent Men". Check the Table of Contents for this book and find out what pages may have been transcribed and posted to this site such as that which follows below:
French's Gazetteer of the State OF New York is an important resource for researchers in New York State. It was published in 1860 and, as its title identifies, it gave a "...Comprehensive View of the Geography, Geology, and General History of the State and A complete History and Description of Every County, City, Town, Village, and Locality."
