Looking for information on ancestors (surname of Burgess) that lived in the Lake George area of Washington County in 1790's. Succeeding generations lived there through at least 1860's. Common first names of male heirs are John, Christian, and William. The name of the first known ancestors are John Christian Burgess and wife Hannah (Newland) Burgess. He was originally a hessian soldier in Burgoyne's army, but deserted to the American side. Served with the Rhode Island Infantry in 1781. Any ideas on where to find more information about either of these two individuals would be greatly appreciated.

VALENTINE: Am seeking any information on Benjamin Valentine who settled in East Chester, Westchester Co., NY abiyt 1679-80. I know he is covered in the book "THE VALENTINES IN AMERICA", Vol. 8, but I don't have access to this book. I am trying to trace Silas Valentine, b c 1812, living in Sussex Co., NJ in 1850. Am not convinced he is from Richard Valentine of Hempstead's line. Other Valentines in Sussex Co. include Benjamin, Lewis J., Nicholas, and Alfred.
