Here is some census information on the Stearns Family of Volney, Oswego Co., NY.  My connection is Lydia Ann Stearns who married Daniel Lambert Moss who by 1880 had moved to Isabella Co., Mich.  From the census it is evident there was a much older Moses Stearns in Oswego in 1820 who does not show up in the 1840 or 1850 census.  I have not been able to connect these Stearns with the early published records of the Stearns in America.
