HISTORICAL TIMELINE FOR TOWN OF PARISH

1803 First settlement by Rev. Barnes 

1808 First school house built

1814 First frame school house built

1828 Grist mill built

1829 First store and first hotel for accomadations

1830 A tannery was erected

1832 Dr. White was the first doctor to settle in Parish
 First  post route through town of Parish, it ran from Camden to Colosse once a week

1841 House of worship was built, Congregational

1848 Archibald Ludington, first lawyer here

1899 Mill and Petrie Mausoleum built at Parish Cemetery

1901 Parish Volunteer Fire Department was formed
November 29, 1920 Fire destroys bank, general store and Odd Fellows Temple

April 23, 1928 dedication of new school building (where the elementary school is located today)

1947 Blizzard snowed in for a month, only 5 days of school in the month of March

July 14, 1953 Parish Lions Club formed

May 1960 Opening of APW Central High School

September 29, 1962 New Post Office built on Main Street

March 1963 Fire- East Main Street block

1966 Blizzard

1972 New fire station completed
 Blizzard hundreds of people snowed in, staying at local homes and larger facilities

1983 Blaze ravages downtown businesses

March 7, 1997 Village's first female mayor
